A few years ago this site was different... Very different - full of seemingly honest people who were willing to engage and see where things led.

Now seems much harder to not be judged from the off or engage in an honest, open non judgemdntal way.

Am I getting old and bitter or is there truth to what I am seeing?

I remember reading the same thing a few years, and a few years before that.

In all truth it's probably a bit of both.

Have been on and off the site over the years and yes there was bee a slight change over time. There know more singles on know that just "fuck know" don't want to make effort and treat site like a a quick hook up site and foursome swingers who like the social side as well as the sex it's off putting.

Also noticed when Craig's list went down there was a massive influx of guys from there as well.

The amount of stats saying its a fuck site why are pepole so picky we all here to fuck it's ridiculous as swingers we all have our own diffrent ways of swinging, this it's a fuck site just meet who ever and fuck them, like all swingers are dirty horny f**ks that don't care where they get it from is off putting.

OP in what way do you feel you are being judged?

Is the issue actually that you are finding it difficult to initiate conversations? A lot of single men say this.

The changes in the site from years ago are down to the people who are using it. In the time I've been here I've seen a massive influx of people, mostly single men, who think fab is a fuckfest and the women on here are just free prostitutes which is about as far from reality as you can get.

What the more successful single men on fab seem to have in common is they are able to differentiate themselves from the "fuck now" crowd.

I don't think I have changed in the years on here.

I think people are much quicker to bracket you as something even if they don't know you...whatever that may be.

I also think that it is harder to take what is said at face value anymore. For example a profile which complains about fake unreliable people who don't meet... And then when you chat to them they turn out to be exactly that. I think in past people would also say thank but no thanks rather than just avoid contact

It sounds like I am just complaining about rejection but I am not, it is much deeper than that, am just trying to provide some specific examples of what I mean

I think to add to it there’s probably been more ‘newbies’ coming Off the back of certain media stories. ‘Normal people’ coming here and calling it a sex site.

There seems to be a cluster of these stories for periods of time and then some respite lol

We've been here for quite some years and haven't noticed any change really. I suspect that's got a lot to do with our age, people do seem less likely to mess us around or be abusive towards us.

We've noticed an increase in messages from so-called couple profiles where there is no information about them, they're non-picture verified, their age range is 18-99 and the message just says 'Hi' or today just had one that said 'H'!

We ignore messages from these profiles and block them.

Sadly we'd never trust a message from a single bloke.

Blocking is our friend on here.

Have you ever trusted a message from single man or has that evolved over time due to the sheer amount of single Knobs

We’re much the same. We hardly ever get abusive messages, or messed around. Even the dreaded single guys are always unfailingly polite and rejection accepted with grace.

We get plenty of potential meets that don’t happen because diaries don’t match up, but that’s modern life,

I think the forums are very different to the rest of the site. They are judgemental, with a tone that’s set by a few posters that are omnipresent on most threads.
