I have been wanting to post this for a few weeks and have never been really sure. Over the last 2 months I have been suffering with a prostate issue. It has mean I have been off site as even going to the loo and wee was painful, let alone having a wank

Some of you may think OMG prostate cancer. But no it’s something called prostitus. I want this post to educate people.

After new year I was at work at I was going to the loo a lot and I was in pain. It was stinging when I went to the loo and kidneys were hurting. I thought I may have a uti

I went to walk in centre to be told I am fine and I may have prostitus but get yourself to a GUM clinc just in case. Anyway a couple of days after no improvements I went. Took the test. The next 4 days were agony waiting for results and in the mean time I was on anti clymedia tablets.

The results came back clear, wtf so arrange doctors appointment. They gave me another set of antibiotics to see if that helped. Anyway after a slight improvement. The doctor then told to see a urologist, and in mean time they would take a blood test

So next day I had a urologist appointment (yes I am private), oh you have prostitus, after him feeling balls and putting a gloved finger in my bum.Take these Antibiotics for next 4 weeks. Blood test comes back, all fine except slightly high sodium level

Shit...anyway 2.5 weeks in i wake up to my cock red as fuck and red spots.

Back to the gum clinic, another test but then I am told I have thrush But we will do a herpes test as well...I thought only women got that

- Thrush not herpes. I read around it that actually it’s common with antibiotics - I am never ill so didn’t know that. 3 days later herpes test comes back clear!!!!

Now with thrush, what people don’t tell you it’s awful and the little red spots can break easily and become like paper cuts on foreskin. Now imagine getting urine or cum on that - yes bloody ouch

Anyway finally the 6 weeks ends and after 1 week of thrush, see the urologist for follow up. Yes you have prostitus. It can be a chronic condition but after the first set of antibiotics it should have improved - it did!!!!. Anyway told to stop antibiotics and let my body fight it naturally for next few weeks and arrange a follow up if still bad

So for those of you that have never heard of Prosititus. It basically makes your penis very tender, especially when going wee or orgasm. You often dribble when you wee also (embarrassing) You go to loo every 30 mins and the top of your penis thinks it’s going to burn and stings. Your balls are tender. Sex can be painful. It’s treatable by Antibiotics but it’s not Transmitable. Also it takes a while to treat as prostate takes while to treat!!!!

What i am trying to say by this post is that don’t feel ashamed about going to the doctors. I did and luckily now I feel loads more informed and comfortable going. Also it’s the reason why I have been quiet. Just really not felt up to anything. I am on the road of recovery and it will be a couple more weeks then should be right as rain

I feel better than I did. It’s a chronic condition, that can take 2-12 weeks to fix. But I am on the way to recovery.

Totally agreed!!!! Actually prostitus is very common between the ages or 30 to 50. So at 37 I am in the middle of it. Also what I didn’t know there is a helpline you can call to talk to nurses about it.

That sounds utterly miserable mate.

The symptoms must have been horrible as it sounds like on the face of it you must have worried you were riddled with a nasty STD!

I had never heard of what you have so good post.

Hope it all clears up and get well soon.

Actually I was worried. What actually makes me laugh is that clymedia is actually easier to treat that prostitus!!!!!

Great Post, an important message . I had a similar issue many years ago as a 23 year old. Several trips back and forth, three lots of antibiotics, no improvement. In my case it was testicular cancer.

No matter how embarrassed or scared you may be, it's important to get checked out.

As a follow on, after 20 years with a false testicle, the retaining material (like fishing line) broke after a rough sex session. It poked through the skin and got infected. Call on Xmas eve from consultant microbiologist-MRSA. In theatre on 27th December to have it removed. Now nicknamed 1 hung low..

ALWAYS get checked out.

I suppose that was one of my fears that I had a groin cancer or an std. I play safe but you just don’t know. One of the key things that doctors don’t tell you with this condition is that there is a help line that prostate cancer uk has that deal with this.

I wished I had know as for a few weeks I was an emotional mess especially waiting for 2 sets of std tests. It has effected my work and sex life but I am just moving on slowly

From the age of 30 men should get their prostate checked, more regularly as they get older. Not a fan of having a finger up the bum. It is still better than cancer.

I have had an enlarged prostate for years so on various meds. Worse thing is having to pee every couple of hours at night, oh for a good nights sleep. Also means I produce very little spunk or even none at all. Used to bother me as men are meant to spurt yards and in pints lol. Think it is an age thing and many men get an enlarged prostate. So important to get regular check although a finger up your arsa can be uncomfortable. Worse thing I had was a camera in my dick to have a look around was fascinatibg watching it in colour on screen as urologist did it. Felt like pissing razor blades for a day or two after though.

I too have an enlarged prostate and had the camera down the little man .The camera wasnt too bad it was the sedative liquid they squirted down first and like you say the going to the toilet for a day or so later.I was told by the specialist to take a herbal tablet called Quercetin which seems to have helped .

Been trying to get my prostrate checked for the last year. In the high risk group but local Doctors not interested in doing any checks. Tried to get the blood check done during my routine Diabetes blood tests and was told "most guys die with Prostrate Cancer than of it"...

Women get cervical tests, mammograms as routine care..... men get feck all until it's too late.

Thank you you for posting OP.

Always good to hear.

3 years ago I exhibited similar symptoms but peeing blood too.

Ended up with a camera down my Willy in a room full of of people to check my kidneys out.

Looks like I may have had the same. It cleared up 4 weeks later with antibiotics.

It's so important to get. Checked no matter what the outcome. A flexible cystoscopy is not much fun (I used to sell them for a living) but it's better than bladder cancer recurring.

If you have any urinary or prostate problems, get to the doc without delay. I didn't heed my increasing need to pee, with difficulty, and one night I found I couldn't pee at all. A call to 111 resulted in a trip to A&E where a litre of pee was drained off and I was catheterised. I was in agony and it could have been fatal if it had backed up into my kidneys and/or my bladder had burst.

My prostate was found to be 220% larger than normal. Fortunately it was benign but still required an operation to 'drill out' a wider urethra through my prostate. The NHS played a blinder and that went well, so after a short stay in hospital I'm now recovering - fortunately I can still get hard and cum, but swinging is off the menu for a month or so.

The message is - don't think problems "down there" will get better by themselves, they won't! A course of drugs may have helped me not to get blocked and removed the need for surgery.

Checked for what? I went through it all last year. The finger test is to detect an enlarged prostate. 40% of men over the age of 40 have an enlarged prostate. With sensible liquid intake management I can go through the night with maybe one trip to the loo. If I’ve kept off the booze then often no need to get up in night.

I asked the question- how enlarged 10%, 25%, 50%? “Oh no, three times normal”!.

I also had a scare of prostate cancer. My PSA level (a simple blood test so insist on it) was raised, it dropped, then went up again. I then had a full scan. One doctor then wanted to do a prostate biopsy which involves taking eighteen samples ( nibbles) around the prostate which sounded and I was told ‘fucking painful’. Another, senior specialist then disagreed, went on to explain that based on my scan results and PSA reading, there was a 5% chance of me having cancer, 1% chance of it being nasty. He went on, “that’s lower than the average man”.

The full quote should be “most men die with prostate cancer, not because of it”.

A personal observation- last year I met and lived with a girl who was incredibly demanding sexually. I was having the most and the best sex of my life. I noticed that my flow rate (urine not spunk) seemed to return to normal. Not quite “pissing like a police horse” in the style of my sons, but all seemed easier. We split up in the new year, I went from very regular sex to none. After six weeks my flow has really slowed.

So, use it or lose it! Can I get a shag on the NHS?

Can I also make a plea to the ladies on here - get your other half to overcome any fears and go to the doctor. We are bad at things like that.

I have had the same recurring problem for several years

I saw a specialist who sent a semen sample and found out what bug was causing the problem

(It was not an sti)

Ended up having surgery to correct a bladder issue that he thought was causing the problem

I had 6 weeks of very strong antibiotics and have been clear for the past 4 months which is good for me

Hope it clears up soon

Good evening fabbers mr Misty here.

Don’t be shy or bashful about going to the drs about prostrate , they have seen and done it many times before and If your wee smells or burns it may not be an STD as I have found out I have prostrate cancer in 2 places and touch wood ( excuse the pun) it has been found early and the biopsy test you don’t feel ( until the anastetic wears-off)

A lot of blokes and older do have it and you can die of old age before it surfaces

But I’m only 55 and it came early I’m having treatment and for you who worry about erectile disfunction it can happen if removed ( prostrate) mine cannot be removed as I’ve had a heart attack and I have heart disease but the blue pills do help , so don’t be shy and be a man I’m ok attitude a lot of younger guys have it but some leave it too late my PSA level has dropped thankfully but another MRI is due, so if you have the symptoms go to the docs a lot of the time is an infection urine but don’t be shy good luck all.

Mr misty.

I got my psa test done via a prostate cancer charity who were doing free testing locally. My results came back as high risk and I was advised to go see my doctor.

It transpires that ejaculating in the previous 24 hours can send your readings higher. I had and it seems it did. Since then my doctor as tested me first every 3 months, then every 6 months and my readings have reduced.

My dad died of prostate cancer but it was at the age of 85 so hopefully I’ve got a few play days left in me yet.

As for the doctor sticking his finger up my bum....
