Face pic etiquette

Just wondering how people feel about face pic etiquette in messages. Not sure why but I’m always a bit put off when someone asks for face pics without first sending theirs.

I have sent face pics in some messages when not requested but just strikes me as odd to ask without first sending?

Would be a different response if they first provided a face pic and then ask...

Totally agree. If you’re going to request one at least have sent one or have one on your profile. It’s just polite and shows a bit of respect. Goes a long way.

We ask for one to be attached to messages on our profile, and will return one to those we like the look of. If we send the first message and they request them on profile we will add one to the message.

I have my face plastered all over my profile so I do like to get a face pic with a message...however, I never pressure anyone into sending one to me. I’ve had meets before now without having seen a face pic first.

Yes it’s more about being polite rather than feeling obligated....

By the way I do think face pic is important because there needs to be some level of attraction but that’s a different issue.

I want to see a face picture before meeting someone, but there's no rush. Anyone who thinks there is, or that I owe them anything because they showed me their face, is welcome to take a long walk off a short pier.

I never send mine first.

If they won't send me theirs we won't be meeting.

If they send their pic and we're not compatible I don't send my pic.

If they are really local and they send us a pic we always send one back even if they are not for us, kind of eases the “oh my god they know us” feelings and keeps everything on an even keel.

People who insist on a face pic in a message without sending one first we just swerve, it’s so rude, but on many occasions we just send one without prompting if they come across as genuine in the messages

Whoever makes first contact sends face pic is how we've always played it.

Yes I agree. I sent one to someone local, who messaged me 1st without sending me one. I sent one unsolicited. Then she said....,"oh, I know you ,awkward." And blocked me without sending me one..so I now have no idea who she is, but she knows me.

I completely agree with this and I often find although not always the majority of the people that ask for a face photo without sending one first, often have no photos on their profile and either a non-existent or very vague profile bio.

So i just ignore that and move on.

yes exactly so I always just ignore them and block. Very occasionally if it's somebody that's very new then I will point out that they would do better if they sent a photo with the message but more often than not it's people that have been here long enough and should know.

If I send a message then I attach a face pic and think its polite to do same.

Have to admit,it does irk me a bit too when someone sends a message and immediately asks for face pic ,usually have only 1 pic on profile too.

With the ratio being as it is OP, i think the ones who ask can ask, because there are more vying for their attention. It's not right, but some have the power to make those rules. If you choose not to aquiese, there are many more waiting in the wings who will be happy to send
