I was proud of Joe Root the England cricket captain for standing up to homophobic abuse. As a bi guy, it was good to hear Joe say that calling him gay was not an insult. He’s gone massively up in the estimation

I’ve always been a bit guarded about pushing my sexuality down people’s throats ) if you know what I mean. It shouldn’t matter what you do behind closed doors but it’s easy to think that everyone is cool and laid back about it because of sites like this. Sometimes you get a real jolt when you encounter discrimination and it makes you realise that it’s right to be cautious.
