Had a meet today, I had rouge area idea where to go, as I got there we exchanged a few e mails and address was given.

I wouldn't just give my address out in the hope they may or may not turn up

That's how it's always worked for me.

ALWAYS insist on a social meeting in a public place first anyway, so less worried about giving address to the visitors for the second meeting, but certainly would not give even a clue away to "random" requests "where are you" lol

Yeah get that, just had a few of those and when halfway into a journey had either no further contact or a cancellation.

If we haven't got the full address we don't go. I can understand that people are reticent to give it out but if you're going to host people need to know where to go. I'm too old to be chasing about with a vague postcode and directions to a green front door.

Makes more sense to meet up in a pub or a coffee shop and if you like then go back to play that works for me.

I wouldn't leave without an address. I scope it out first and plan my journey. I use public transport so I have to check for station closures and the route.

There and to the left a bit

I don't accommodate but if I did I wouldn't be inviting anyone to come to my house that I didn't trust completely in the first place - that being the case giving them my full address beforehand wouldn't be an issue.

The flip side of that being I'd not expect to be invited to someone's house unless they trusted me enough to give me their address in advance.

I meant for arranged meets. After a couple of bad experiences I'm super cautious...

When I used to meet at home I only gave out our postcode until such time the person had arrived and then I gave the door number. It always, worked for us without a problem.

I agree with this . Not a cat in hells chance I’d give my address out to anyone I’ve never met

I would never give our address out to someone we haven't met socially, for safety.

I would think many single women would be the same op.

We host parties and give our address to lots of couples and as is the norm some don't turn up or even message again, it bothers us a little that they have our address and haven't had the decency to message a feeble excuse, but as for safety, no worries there, in fact might save a bit of money if they tried anything, the dogs would have a field day lol

If I pick someone up I always offer them to give me an address close by if they want to. Till trust is established.

I recommend it to other women.

That should have been a red flag straight-away.

I can't understand people who have 'near you' or 'pornland' as their profile location...

How is that helpful ffs.

Even being provided with an address complete with postcode is no guarantee... ....over the years I've had a handful of occasions of arriving at the given address to either get no answer or be told I had the wrong house...

I see what you did there!

Is 'rouge area' a French red-light district?

Its a bit pathetic for someone to do that to you its probably better to meet in a local pub though then less issues if you don't click.

Saying that I do know of people who have been messed about by men not turning up at the last min and not contacting them putting up another profile to mess him around so you never know peoples real reasons.

At least once was obviously a deliberate wind-up - a very elderly gentleman opened the door, and confirmed I was at the right address...

....but he was clearly not the mid-40s divorcee from the profile (on another site) - and he'd never heard of the name when I told him who I was looking for...

....another time the door was opened by a woman baby-sitting her grandchildren - in that instance, the names I asked for were correct (her daughter and son-in-law), but they were out for the evening...

....in those kind of circumstances, I always envisaged someone nearby peering through their curtains while laughing themselves silly...
