I came up with a rather shocking idea.

I thought, why not actually put my location as the actual place where I live - that way, people will be able to know how close they might be to me and could prove somewhat useful in trying to find suitable people to meet up with.

I'm very much on your doorstep OP. A medium sized town just 10mins South of your location, dependant on how honest you're being yourself.

Neverland.. is to stop me being bombarded by people who live 5mins from me. People who would recognise me or attempt to locate me. My male profile lists my exact location though.

Sometimes you are best using a close to not your actual location on here or a generalised location there are a lot of oddballs on here and its not always best to let them know where you are.

My age and location are within margin of error. I do live in the Manchester area, but I'm not going to say "I live in Exampleville MXX XXX". I am 33, but I put my birthday slightly off (not enough to make a material difference: although I'm not sure it'd make a difference if I claimed to be 32 or 34). So, it's true enough but a little obscured.

Mine's always said "Manchester", but I've encountered some unsavoury characters here which make the vagueness more appealing. I'd much rather someone have to narrow it down if I don't want them to know where I am.
