The best way is to check for veri's and photo verification. Not fool proof but a good indication. Go with gut instinct. But as has already been said, " if it seems to good to be true.....

I find the local men who post things like "where are all the women on here?", "Does anyone actually talk?" etc are the ones best avoided. I'm real, I've met some charming gentlemen (and some less gentle

) and I think you need to be clear about what you want and what you offer in your profile to save some of the time wasting that's inevitable on a free site

The forums that actually quite a good place to start.

I've been messaging people and met a couple of people from the forum but I probably would have passed by if they popped up on my inbox.

The form is a great way to get to know somebody and their personality and get yourself known.

It's also quite a good way of knowing of socials or clubs and parties local to you and getting a bit of a connection if that makes any sense.

No-one is suggesting you broadcast your life story, but a lot of people will make an initial judgement whether to contact you, or respond to your messages, based on your profile and pics - if you're not getting the responses you expect, it doesn't mean people are necessarily fake, just that they aren't interested based on your profile

You are pic verified which just means admin have seen a pic of you holding a sign with your username but it doesn't carry a great deal of weight, and certainly not as much as a genuine meet or even a webcam veri (which in reference to your comment about Sappy further up, she does have, she just chooses not to display them).

Welcome to the forums though - as others have said, play them right and they're a great way to get to know people and them to know you
