I've never had a problem taking directions (driving aside!). I much prefer a woman who is confident enough to say what she likes or doesn't like, than playing guessing games with someone too shy to say. More a question of arrogance than testosterone I'd say. Although the latter can lead to the former, it doesn't have to.
