I'm mostly a '2' - but have a range of desire that can be a '0'... mood has a lot to do with it and even within the '2' zone I have bi limits... Interesting that more and more guys are open to bi exploration though, just a shame more women are not into the idea of 2 guys together.

I've toted things up so far. I thought it might be interesting to compare the numbers in this thread with those for the general population. I only counted those with a preferred number and left out those who expressed a half point or said they were between two.

0 - 11 (21%)

1 - 5 (9%)

2 - 26 (49%)

3 - 7 (13%)

4 - 2 (4%)

5 - 2 (4%)

6 - 0

I didn't have time to chase down a proper break down of UK answers but the Wikipedia page on the Kinsey scale has this text:

"For a 2015 YouGov UK survey, when asked to place themselves on the Kinsey scale, 72% of all adults, and 46% of adults aged 18–24 years, picked a score of zero, totally heterosexual. On the other side, 4% of the total sample, and 6% of young adults, picked a score of six, meaning a totally homosexual identity. Overall, 89% of the population described themselves as heterosexual."

Erm... I'm gay but I'm a 5! Men don't want to make me sick in my mouth and I've had sex with them before in the dim distant past. But I haven't in many years and have no desire to. But by your theory and the kinsey scale questions unless you're a "gold star" gay/ lesbian by your theory everyone must be bisexual.

Does getting a hard on over something mean that's someone you're attracted to? Or do you just like doing "naughty" things and it's the illicitness of it that is the turn on as opposed to the person you're doing it with?

I suppose it just doesn't make sense to me according to the questions in the kinsey scale tests that if you've ever had sexual contact with someone of the same sex you're gay or bisexual, however if you've ever had sexual contact with someone of the opposite sex you cannot be gay. Many gay people have sex with opposite sex people in their younger years whilst they're still figuring it out. They realise that straight sex is not for them and they live their lives gay forever more. But because they've done that, according to the test they're bisexual. Which I don't think is the case. I'm sure the same can be said for straight people but I can't speak for them!

Personally I believe in "you are what you feel", be that in terms of gender or sexuality. I am quite sure I'll be in the minority with that opinion though!

I agree with you to be honest. Experimentation in your youth based on social norms should not detract from the fact that these experiences have helped confirm the fact you are gay, and should be considered as such. I get the fact that I am a 2, which makes sense... however the test doesn't give an accurate description of who you are now. In that it is flawed.

Personally I believe in "you are what you feel", be that in terms of gender or sexuality. I am quite sure I'll be in the minority with that opinion though!

I totally agree with you. I've had sex with more men in my life but only had sex with a handful of women but I have completely fallen for a woman I was seeing heavier than I did with any man. I struggle to live with a man but I'm sure if she'd have left her husband I'd have happily lived with her. Sadly it didn't work out because she was just testing the waters. So because I developed such strong feelings for her, and I think I could again for a woman, I feel i am bi sexual.

In a quick scan. I would suggest that the majority are flexible in their sexuality. That does not mean you act on it but as swingers i am glad we are more open minded on this than perhaps the general population.
