"That's a good sign right? "

It doesn't mean anything

If they haven't replied, they're likely not interested

The only good sign is a positive reply.

East Sussex

Don't read anything in to it.

I'm terrible for reading a message and just leaving it if Mr N didn't chase after me deleting messages there would be loads just sitting there.

Your best bet is to assume it means no thanks, then if you do get a response its a lovely surprise

Do people actually do this?

They've been amazed by the message in their inbox and don't want to blow their chances by rushing their response.

They want to take some time to carefully craft a winning message. (This may take years. )

We were at a party once where a woman said she did.

St Austell

I initially regard 'Been read' and not 'Deleted' as potentially hopeful - but it ain't necessarily so...

....some sit there for weeks - which invariably means they've fallen off the bottom of the recipient's inbox page...

....a reply expressing some interest is the only real indicator...

I don't delete mine unless I have unread messages off the end of the page.
