Spending my working life in the hospitality industry it is only in the last few years that I have had either Christmas or New Year not working. It's also my birthday on New Year's Eve. I always enjoyed myself though.

Near Wells

I've never worked Christmas day but have done so sometimes on boxing day. I always work the days between Christmas and New year.

But this year I'm working Christmas eve in the morning, over to my sisters for Christmas day then going on holiday boxing day.

So I won't be back at work until January

Fire is working Xmas eve and Boxing Day - but on the bright side Smoke will be in the north-east anyway so it doesn’t affect our time together

Oh indeed. First Christmas on opposite shifts for a few years. Tigs starts a run of nightshifts on Christmas Eve, just as Tinks starts a run of days off.

Hopefully find time for some much needed fun again in the New Year.

Nights on call the whole week.

No extra money, but, on a positive note, can avoid the family.
