I'd imagine it's to do with intensity? Not planning to ever explore it myself but I AM curious to hear other's opinions. X

A sub or submissive and a slave are a lifestyle choice but I think that a slave is the next scale down from sub. I watched a programme once where a dom and his sub had a slave, therefore she subs to both the sub and the dom if that makes sense

This causes lots of debates on the bdsm forums.. my Master once had me research this but there is lots of things that really some subs do.. that some class as slave traits..

I am a slave not a submissive.. I have no safeword.. I am totally owned by my Master.. Masters word is my law.. I have no rights to say no... ( we are talking about how I portray it.. dont want people to get on saying that legally I do... lol)

For know a few subs that I would say that are as committed to their dominants as I am to my Master.. but on the whole I see a sub as being more of an occassional thing... I am at all times my Masters slave.. it extends well beyond the bedroom.. I do nothing without Masters proir consent..

To be honest I could put a list of things that a slave does that a sub doesnt but there would always be exceptions.. so I shall say its mostly how a person defines their role.

ahh but i'm a sub cali...

OP, ppl like labels, just look at the bbw threads on here. i have no collar, no safeword, am pierced for my masters pleasure. The idea of no is banished from my vocabulary. Am i a slave ,a sub, or as a friend once described me an uncollared slave?

The 24/7 idea is one broad definition, byt what about those married couples i know who only express their D/s relationship when she is collared...they are together 24/7 but know for sanity that it very rarely works within a marriage. A working marriage is a partnership.

i obey my Master without question, so am i more of a slave than someone who lives with her Domly one, but is able to tell him to put the bins out and bitch when he forgets?

Then again there are people who advertise slave for a night wanted...i would argue that if it is just for a night it is kinky sex(and nothing wrong with that) not D/s. If you do not have a relationship then you are both just fufilling your own fantasies and desires. i can honestly say i get my pleasure from pleasing my Master, that is only possible within a relationship.

Perhaps that is the only real definition that works, someone is a sub or slave if within their particular relationship that is the term that they use and are comfortable with.

i havnt helped much have i

To me a slave is someone who is owned by someone 24/7. Submissive is just someone who enjoys someone else that is in control occasionally. I would call myself submissive because I love a woman that can take control. I find myself attracted to mistresses and dominate woman all the time, but I wouldn't say I was a slave, just submissive.

That was what I said and think.. its what your definition is and I did say miss puddlefuck that I know a few Subs that are as committed to their dominants as I am to my Master.

even within slaves there is a huge difference in levels of commitments..

i have a submissive personality and tend in the bedroom to take that role but in life i am very much the opposite but i agree with the majority there really isn't a straight forward answer

I am a submisive I am owed and named by my Sir We are 24/7 in our own way i am fully available to him and follow his every instruction if i dont im punished which i accept graciously as i know its his way of teaching me. My Sir provides for me and takes care of my needs. I believe that a slave has no control over their own life and the choice to walk away where as a submissive even a collared one can choose to break those bonds.

Yes, you did. I'd imagine that for it to work fully, there perhaps needs to be an unbreakable trust between both, otherwise, it is abuse or am I not picking it up right?
