Does you voice make you cringe?

My voice is deeper than I think it sounds, I am told I have a booming voice.

Yes. It’s been described as soft and lovely. But also a monotone pirate. So, swings and roundabouts.

Can't stand my voice recorded.

I have also got an accent which can be easily mistaken for French so I am told and can't speak a word of French besides the alphabet. My accent is a mix of somewhere in Africa and English.

When I hear my voice played back I hate it yet I've had plenty of women say I have a sexy voice and I'm quite popular on the karaoke... sounds good in my head too. Do we just hate it because we hear it differently?

I quite like mine actually but that's only because it doesn't sound like I think it should, so I think it's someone else.

I talk for a living & my calls are recorded...

I talk so much that people assume I do

But no. I speak like a total chav and I just don’t think I sound girly at all. I videoed my dad boxing last night and I was screeching ‘come on dad! You can do it!’ And at the end of the video I can hear myself saying ‘fuck, my voice is annoying. Sorry dad!’

The most assertive answer so far.

I blame the transmitter, seems like most people don't like their voice, but get complimented on it.

Your voice sounds totally different to you when you hear yourself speak, to when you hear it played back on a recording, hence why most people hate the sound of their voice on video, but never give it a second thought day to day.
