Hemp is rougher but it tends to grip itself. Knots don’t undo themselves as easily and, crucially, they’re less likely to work themselves tighter. Once a loop is tied and locked, it stays the same size

Silk will hurt just as much if you allow it to bunch up too. Otherwise if you’re careful with it, it can be much more gentle for those tender bunnies. Particularly for suspension work..

Agreed, some react slightly to the hemp.

It depends on the play, it isn’t an either or play though.

If you use proper knots eg bowline they never become impossible to undo but always carry safety cutters
