I remember on girl that came to our school who said she was expelled from her previous school as she punched a teacher following being caned

when i went to primary school i remember me and another girl getting hit by a ruler across the back of our legs by our teacher.the reason was because we had both peered into the staff room (which had nets up so was hard to see) while the dentist was checking someone's teeth.the staffroom overlooked the school playground anyway so anyone of the pupils could have seen that.its because we went up to the window and were seen that we got the ruler. It was wrong and not justified.years later when i told my dentist what had happened he was shocked by the fact we had been hit by a ruler for what we did.

We have - none of them good really in my case - just an everyday story of slightly inadequate teachers using the cane to coerce because they didn't have the skills to persuade.

Nothing sexy about it, and I say that as someone who has been on either end of some sexy, consensual canings in his time....

It's child abuse. Nothing kinky or sexy about that at all. Consenting adults is completely different.

the same primary school where i got hit by the ruler for watching the dentist-the headteacher caned my 5 year old brother for not eating hes dinner. I never forgave them horrible teachers and i swear if i could see them now i would ask them to justify what they did,probs be dead by now.

I got caned across the palms of my hands for defending myself in the school playground and kicking the crap out of a bully. Hurt like hell but it was well worth it.

I'm a bit young for it, but teachers had ways of making your life hell without laying a finger on you. There's one or two, I seriously wonder what possessed them to enter teaching given how much they hated children.

I know... how bizarre was that ...

The main reason for forcing kids to be right handed really came in to its own in the industrial revolution.

All the mills etc had machinery that was set up to be operated right handed.

Working class kids would be going from school into largely industrial jobs.

A left handed kid using right handed machinery had more chance if being injured, maimed or killed.

Or even more importantly, holding up production...

Hence why left handed kids were forced to use their right hand...
