a quandary, could you change my mind?

It's amazing how many people hold a great deal of store in shallow compliments from strangers and glance over the words used by the people who know them best.

I always feel awkward receiving compliments, just because I didn't get many, but something changed am not sure what, I still have doubts about them and it makes me think alot.

. The chance of getting someone into bed that lives hundreds of miles away is quite slim. I dont pay someone a complement unless I mean it.

It's fairly easy to distinguish between false flattery and genuinely meant compliments. If someone tells me I look 30 (and it has been said) I know its false flattery because I know I don't.

Paying me compliments genuine or otherwise isn't going to get me in to bed if I'm not interested because I'm not daft.

Same it took me a while to accept them I was like ye ye bu'll shit you say that to all the ladies ?? that when a total stranger said that they actually meant it as they see the real you without your flaws or mistakes . But it was harder for me to believe close ones as it usually had a hidden agenda.but as I got older I knew which one to take with a pinch of salt and they all just want to get fucked in the end ??

I was in Paris in a shopping centre with a friend and a sales assistant approached us and asked if we needed any help/ where are we from etc. We said no we are fine, we are from London. Then out of the blue he said to me ‘You’re absolutely beautiful’

This caught me completely off guard. I’m straight but I was flattered and confused at the same time haha and my friend said my face expression said the same thing.

I just said um thank you

I’m the worst with face compliments like the above or someone saying handsome. My initial reaction is get out of here.

As a straight guy it's always disappointing that all of my compliments come from men, normally about my beard in public which I never know weather it's sarcasm or not or about my dick on here, both get an "erm thanks" response and in the beard case I'll spend the rest of the day wondering weather they were genuine or sarcastic and if so weather they thought I realized it was sarcasm

It’s nice to be nice - no matter how far away a person lives. Telling them they have a nice ass isn’t necessarily code for “can we fuck?”, it’s just telling them they have a great ass

Sometimes I will tell a woman friend they look great in an outfit. 9/10 of them say something like "oh this old thing it really makes my bum look big"

How much better and easier to just smile and say "thank you"
