Is it just me or do you sometimes block other FABites due to comments, views, or plain stupidity posts - Just so you don't meet them later?

I only counted block, or block if they’ve messaged before and got nasty and I see their posts!

Even if you block you can still see comments in the forums

"Is it just me or do you sometimes block other FABites due to comments, views, or plain stupidity posts - Just so you don't meet them later? "

Sometimes. Not because I fear I would meet them later. That would never happen. More so,so that I know not to ever reply to one of their comments directly

No. We can still respond to each other on the forums, so I don’t see the point. I will counter block however

Generally I don't do this, I usually only block for direct abuse or a counter block. I can think of only one person I've blocked for a reason other than this.

There's no point blocking a forum user, unless they are local to me.

I just add a private note to remind me of why they are an ass

On my previous profiles I did.

Now I realise that it’s not a solution to anything just a visual cue to the blocked profile that you have an issue with them - that’s if they even notice. Can’t be arsed.

"Even if you block you can still see comments in the forums "

That is not what he said.

He is asking if due to how someone conducts themselves in the forum would it, or has it, caused you to block them so you would not risk meeting them at some later date if they messaged you or you messaged them not realising they were that dickhead with the self inflated ego or some seriously dodgy opinion on something....

Or at least that is what I thought the OP was getting at.

Now most of my blocks are bi/gay guys pretending to be straight guys, who don't read my profile and are disrespectful with their message to me.

I block people who live near me just so it's not a awkward situation and in case I know them. Oh and the odd weird messages but mainly decent people.

If they blocked me fair dos I can't really say I'll be heart broken.

I have several times. Usernames are hard to remember and a lot just sound the same. There have been a few men and couples that have had seriously dodgy ideas about stuff that I would not want to risk getting into a conversation with them.

Same with statuses on profiles some are very passive aggressive and I just think "I don't like your attitude" and I block to save bother later.

I once met one of my pt clients on a swing social, it was awkward at first but once over it was alright, we are good friends.

It's a handy wee thing! I use it for people I'm chatting to as well, to remember things they've told me about themselves.

Well if they stop posting in the forum and 6 months later you come across their profile forgetting who they were you could end up arranging a meet with them......as unlikely as that might seem.

Yes - this. But phrased so much better than me. Reading the thread though it seems that the private note function is the way forward

"I've blocked forumites for making twattish comments..

Exactly. I have had men who did not like what I said on a thread go to my profile and come back with something to throw at me.. ..usually along the lines of "well your not even met verified" which had nothing to do with the thread subject matter. It happened twice in a week. I have seen many men on the forum use a women's profile against her in responding to comments they did not like.

Always makes me smile when I read on profiles .....”if you say this ,, or do that , you will be blocked” ...... like it’s going to end life as one knows it ,,, seriously it doesn’t make one iota of difference unless it’s someone that matters

There's a few people that I disagree with on the forum but I'd love to have a coffee with them. I love their feisty-ness. (If that's not a word it should be.)

To go into stealth mode you choose don't show when you view a profike , go to privacy settings and it's the first option.

You can't block seeing posts. For stealth mode, go onto privacy and switch off who you've looked at
