When someone says the word FAB

Working in the public sector, I speak face to face with a lot of people on a daily basis..

But if I make a funny comment to get the conversation flowing, and they reply with" ooh fab " I lose my train of thought and start to think ;

Are they on fab ?

Have they seen me on fab ?

Or are they just saying the word fab ? Hahaha

It's not exactly a common word to use these days....it makes me wonder if they have heard of or been on this FAB site before.

But obviously you can't just go around asking people if they are on fab hahahahahahaha

Anyone else had any experiances like that ?

No - I use the word fab so often, have done for years.

Think you’re looking into it a bit much

I have the same paranoia as you haha. At one of my last jobs a female seemed to make a big point of saying “thanks, FAB” (emphasised fab) when I finised briefing her on something.

It was really obvious. I didn’t react but it made me wonder if she’s somehow seen me on here or if I was just imagining it

I got outed for using fab a number of years ago in one of my previous work places and the team around me would often drop the word “fab” and emphasise the word in a passive manner

So after that experience, I’m naturally paranoid when people use the word

I also train in a gym where pretty much everyone appears to be on fab. I recognise faces or tattoos but don’t say anything but do hear “fab” getting whispered in conversation and sometimes think have I been recognised we are all on here for the same reason so not too much I can worry about from that aspect

We were in Thailand a couple of years ago and by chance met another UK couple in a pub, we got on great, they were flirty and such a laugh.

To test the water I asked "does the word FAB mean anything to you"? They were really puzzled so obviously they were not on here. And after that we were unlikely to ask them to play.

Hiding in the shadows

Before joining here Fabulous was one of my favourite words, obviously said in a Craig Revel Horwood voice for full effect.

I rarely say it now

Was one of my sons birthdays yesterday.

I made a little photo collage, posted it on FB, I did have a little chuckle when several of my friends commented "have a fab day"

I bought a new car stereo from a well known chain of car and bike accessory store.

I recognised the guy who served me as having a profile on Fab, face pics on show.

I couldn't resist but say "awww that's fab" when he was talking me through the different functions haha aww. Not sure he made the connection, he didn't register it if he did.

I enjoy dropping 'fab' into conversations with sexy male voices on the phone.

Hoping some day I'll hear a gasp or a chuckle. Not that I would be able to say anything more if I did get a reaction, all my calls are recorded
