If it's the female of the couple asking for their 'friend' then no, that would not put a man off. If it's the male of the couple asking for their 'friend' then no, would not put a man off either.

It's on a slightly different note but I went to a club in a wheelchair recently (broken knee). Yes, it was tricky, I wouldn't have gotten far if it wasn't for my friend who I went with. And I did get a feeling that at least some of the guys were chatting with me there only because I was in a wheelchair, unable to escape quickly enough without treading on some toes. But it was great to be back as I was missing the atmosphere.
