The Oxford Comma

With all the recent chat regarding grammar, I pose the following question:

Given the choice between using a comma, a colon, a semicolon, and a period (full stop)--IS the Oxford Comma a necessity?

But the Oxford comma is only when listing things? The others all have good uses?

Quite why this is a question for swingers chat is anyone’s guess . Let’s hope it’s moved to a more suitable spot . The exact location of which I won’t suggest as I will no doubt get told off for it .

The only real purpose of any of the things the op speaks of are to make emojis anyway

It's easy lol this, that, and the other - with an Oxford comma or this, that and the other without!! The only place it's used

I honestly hadn't noticed that most people pay attention to that, much. Cake, after all, isn't nearly as swinger-like as pampas grass, et al.

Go on, be brave!

Unless you appreciate well written things.

The Oxford comma is an abomination, but comes in handy every now and then.

If I’m honest , i don’t come on fab forums to appreciate well written things . Nor do I use fab to show my feelings towards cake or pampas grass .

Infact , the more I think about it , the more I wonder why I come on fab at all . But that’s another topic .

Often discussed here, in the lounge. I like it and of the view that its still valuable and needed.
