I don't know if this has been talked about before but does anyone have any idea why we call a vagina a "pussy"? It seems such a random name for it, they don't look remotely cat like... So what's the origin?

In my youth it was known as a cats head because a natural fanny resembled a cats head from above, maybe it developed from there.
