"Whatever the venue - outdoors, clubs, cinemas etc, you would always get confirmation/consent from others, before engaging with them. It's that simple. Obviously there are laws that must be followed at all times, to prevent gaining a criminal record. It's quite easy to visit somewhere and just observe, so that you get a feel for how people act and what goes on. In all instances, whether a club, cinema, whatever - take yourself along and expect nothing more than to enjoy passing your time there, enjoying the facilities etc. People who go along with expectations can often appear to have an uncompromising attitude/sense of entitlement, which is invariably unattractive to others. If you gain anything in addition to enjoying a trip out, a film, a club's ambience etc, then it's a bonus and you can leave happier. Worst case, you've spent a few quid and a couple of hours of your time and still gained what you went for, so it's not a loss.
