When you just have to block members

Yes, sorry to say but we have had to block our very first fabmember.

Our profile quite clearly states no under 40's for obvious reasons, we are mature and wish to meet mature. But when youngsters contact us we are polite maybe even decide to meet them. Howver when its a single guy of 25 who will not take no for an answer it becomes bothersome, hence the block.

Anyone else had to do this, jsut because a member will not take no as a no?

im very polite but when u keep getting messages from people u have politely declined u just wonder if they remember who they have messaged .. i reckon lots of guys just send the same copy and paste text to a hundred people at once or whoever is online maybe???

Ive got 60 in my block list for the same thing. I answer "no thank you" but this seemed to open the floodgates to them and I was inundated with messages from them so now I block them, thank goodness for that button is what im saying!

We very rarely block anyone, but there are a few who either won't take a polite no for an answer, or who simply refuse to read our profile and what we are looking for. An initial contact with one couple revealed we wanted different things, no problem we thought and wished them well. Instead of leaving it at that, the male half tried to get us to change our preferences, when told we wouldn't he got quite abusive .... BLOCK!!! lol cest la vie

I must admit that it is a good thing - you just don't need to deal with the prats who stalk you then abuse you! Leaves more time for the good stuff - yummy!

We have blocked a few who quite honestly dont read our profile.At the moment we cant meet due to circumstances we dont want to go in to, but still we get single guys, and we try being polite but if that fails... 'block'

I totally understand, do you know you can set your profile not to accept any messages from single guys if that's any help? you could still send messages to a single guy and they can reply to it but without initial contact they can't get through

we just had to block a younger couple who at first contact was fine, we had intentions to meet until they contacted a family member on my msn and gave all details on us.How to find , this website and how to get our profile what we are into etc, to say I was shocked as was my sister, but they are now blocked. I have lesson learned, NO MSN. and sis wont pass it on. I should have been more carefull about the MSN.

OMG! that's shocking and spiteful ... and some people wonder why others are careful, sorry to hear that guys I hope they get what they deserve for being so mean and nasty xxx

Ty, my fault, I should have been more carefull but it wont happen again. My other half wasnt a happy man either.

How could they ??

Some of us have family that dont know anything.

Thank heavens I got a good sis, tho it'll be a while till I see her again.

There has been a few report of this happening to friends.... either through ppl already knowing where folk live and their friends and family are or through Facebook/bebo etc....

Be wary on who you add as pals and who they themselves have as pals on facebook and the likes.

A world of my own

I have blocked about 4 people. When i first joined Fab I was inundated with messages and although I tried I just couldn't answer them all immediately, one guy got stroppy because I didn't reply straight away and then bombarded me with very nasty messages.

Eventually I added things to my profile to say who I am NOT interested in, anyone in 20s etc.. but still people messaged me, so then I added 'I WILL NOT REPLY TO...' and have written a list to save wasting other peoples time and mine, but still people continued to message and some still won't take no for an answer and when I delete without replying they get nasty, so they get blocked

Had to block a guy only yesterday, he sent me a message along the lines "I so wanna f**k you" told him wasn't gonna happen, his reply was "why not? I can offer cash" to say I was offended is an understatement, perhaps should have reported him, but thought blocking him best for me.

Some of the above posts are classic examples of why us single guys get a lot of bad press.

Why they can not be grown up about it and accept no for an answer is beyond me. If someone says no to you then get over it, everyone has a right to say no.

Like a member said in another thread though, those idiots make the nice guys seem nicer - so cheers idiots

I have only blocked one guy and thats because he had posted a pic that was not of him, sop when he turned up for a meet it was a bit confusing! Reported him too!

It always makes me wonder when they have pics of other people up - do they think you won't notice or what? Perhaps they're hoping that you'll just go along with it as you've made the effort to meet? They really are sad! What did you say to him when you met?

We had one guy who seemed ok to start with but then he started sending aggressive and abusive messages when I wouldnt agree to meet him at very short notice, accusing me of being a timewaster etc. I blocked him but also reported him - and he's no longer on the site. Lets face it - a few less nasty single guys on here isnt going to be a bad thing! So block AND report.
