Nerves can be a real problem at clubs and moresomes, and even just plain meets. I've had my share of them myself, and sometimes it's not possible to either feel comfortable, or relaxed.
Like Bobby says though - if there's no life in the flesh normally, then that's maybe a sign of something needing a little more than an internal pep-talk.
If you get an erection in the mornings (doesn't have to be every morning, just some...) or have no problem getting an erection when you're on your own, then there'll be not too much wrong with the flesh - but check it out if there's any deterioration. Some people take medicines for blood pressure that can reduce the ability to get hard, or have underlying medical conditions like Diabetes in which case the circulation isn't as good and it's plain hard work for the heart to pump blood into your gear. Smokers also have a hard time because the blood vessels are small, and get silted up over time making it even harder to get hard.
If you can get an erection, but just not at clubs or when you feel the pressure is on you to perform, then you just have to ease yourself in just that little more gently. No one will mind, and no one will find it funny as it happens all the time - so it's not or never going to be just you. Don't push yourself, take things at your own pace. There will be people who you can try just oral with, and that might help get things kickstarted. Take a private booth, or a dark corner... anywhere where you can feel a little more comfortable and in control of your own self. Listen to your own body. Try and tell yourself to relax and loosen up. Eventually it'll get through and it'll work... once over those sort of hurdles it's easier to look back and wonder what all the fuss was about, but these things take time and thought to work best. The viagra or whatever can help you get and stay there, but the spark that lights the flame has to come from you, and you've got to feel at ease and relaxed to do that.
In the meantime, anything that excercises your legs is good to try and improve blood circulation. Cycling and running are brilliant, and can even help undo some circulatory problems a little in time.
Merry Christmas and a rock solid New Year!
