Safe sex, safe oral?

I'm sure there are 100s of posts regarding this. We all love dirty sex lots of spunk etc but we all know condoms should be used to prevent all sorts of STIs.

Unsure if such thought is given to oral sex? Are the risks reduced in getting an STI with oral sex? See lots of couples on here saying a condom is a must but on their profile there a pics of the woman with some guys naked cock in their mouth.

Not pointing fingers or having a rant, perhaps just want some thoughts on the matter.

If you have any doubts about someone's health avoid.

Where there is doubt there is no doubt.

Apparently the risks are reduced but there is still risk. Not many use condoms for oral though.

There a lot of good quality condoms available; makes good sense when we enjoy playing with other people so much.

I find its not so much the flavour that's the problem, especially if you use Skyns but the teat on the end makes me gag.

All the talk about using protection for oral centres around giving blowjobs.

What about pussy licking then? Is anyone seriously going to believe that being licked through a dental dam for example is going to do anything erotic to their clit or pussy? And yet doing that without the dental dam would just be equivalent to giving oral without protection. As if the only risk of catching something exists only for the act of blowing a cock raw!

You're right, people rarely mention this.

So any type of oral is risky? Avoid proper dodgy people? How do we know if they are dodgy?

Any sexual activity is risky. Protection or otherwise.

Condoms don't claim 100% efficacy with preventing STDs or pregnancy do they?

Swinging is inherently a more risky thing in terms of sexual health than say monogamy. The difference between swinging and hookup culture outside in societal nightlife is that swinging more often than not is a conscious sober decision made and not just something you do when you're d*unk in a nightclub and want to get laid without vetting who you pulled beforehand first.

Any type of sexual contact is risky.

You can get a cold from kissing for instance. You can get gonnhorea in your throat from oral sex.

Its all a risk.

Not true though its nothing to do with blowing anything its through micro fissures both in the mouth or sexual organs. These can appear naturally or through non sexual activity. Bad advice and false assurances can be dangerous.

Have a look on the THT website as regards the risks of oral sex and make your own minds up.

Nothing wrong in asking someone to use a condom or dental dam-I think the main thing is not to engage in oral sex if anyone has any cuts or sores in said regions. THT also advise people don't clean their teeth before oral sex to minimise the risks.

Hope this helps x

Sti's commonly caught through oral are ghonnerea, herps and syphilis. And then there the more uncommon onces. Go to the NHS website and you can read all about it.

We all should be using dental dam and condoms for oral. But I don't know anyone who does.

Nor do I know anyone who does .

And perhaps you’re right , maybe we should be using them for oral . But if I’m going to be honest , I’d rather not bother than use them for oral .

It’s a risk , but nowhere near as high as unprotected penetrative sex .

As regards the risk factor in oral versus vaginal/anal sex...

In the porn industry (which we all know isn't close to real life) the actors are far more likely to allow sperm into their mouth than inside their vagina or anus.

From that, I just assumed that the risks were less during oral sex. Some actors won't even allow sperm near their eyes to lessen the risk.

It seems that they have done their research and decided that it's safer (not safe...!!) to allow fluids in their mouth.

I have absolutely no idea if my comments have any basis in truth, but it's interesting that they see it that way...
