Has anyone else see the the news today of the tragic murder of a Transgender lady from Fabswingers killed by a another Fabswingers member?

Please ALL be careful out there.

I presume this post will get deleted by the Mods, but just making people aware of what is going on in our community.

Are you allowed to post BBC links?

Man guilty of murder of Naomi Hersi.

I recall the case when the body was found in a hotel near Heathrow and a couple were arrested.

This is the trial verdict.

The BBC report says they met through a swingers website.

I just googlified it too. It was the murder from the beginning of this year. Ruggers did post regarding it at the time to reassure site users.

As far as I'm aware it happened in March this year, the case has only come to trail this week. I seen it on Sky news.

Yes it happened earlier in the year and the trial has been going on for number of weeks, the guy was found guilty today. He will be sentenced soon and i hope for a long time. She was a very sweet person indeed and didn't deserve this. So sad.

That is so sad to hear. I doubt this thread will be closed though because it is fairly easy to verify online.

I too started a thread when my girlfriends ex Dom (The man behind the Tab** N**r parties) got a 5 year prison sentence this year. Although annoyed when the thread was closed I can grudgingly see the moderators point because news about the case is not so readily available.

It is also a stark warning about the sobering but necessary need for all of us to be vigilant.

So sad but being trans is tough these days .we are easy targets for abuse and violence .I would say I get verbal shit 5 or 6 times a week and physical attacks once or twice a month .these makes relaxing on a night out hard but you just get on with it

This angers me so much, you shouldn't have to get on with it. Some people are such neanderthals!! Best wishes xx

I normally use my charm and humour but have no qualms about defending myself .99% aren't bothered about use but the1% are usually the loud obnoxious ones .knowing your rights and protections. is paramount as well even though hate crime has risen more people are standing up when they see it happening

Don’t forget he was also a prolific member on here.

I was reading the details yesterday and it was pretty chilling.

Her family have had to sit through every detail of it and her life.

It's very sad although thankfully a very rare event in the UK. I have no idea whether the murder was related to the victim's trans status but the current attitude in society towards trans people reminds me of that towards gay men 30 years ago. I really hope we get over it although the way society and politics are going at the moment I fear the reverse will happen

Oh be fair to the neanderthals, they might have been a really nice species! The only ones that we know for sure act in such an inhuman manner are of course humans! Bless their cotton socks, they can't help but be vile given the chance.

Such a horrible thing to happen. I sympathise with her family so much having to listen to his lies. The killer of a friend of mine did the same to her, blackening her name to excuse himself. So painful on top of losing a loved one.

I hope people think carefully about their safety and do what they can to minimise risk when meeting others. It must be very rare considering how many people meet on here, but cleary not impossible.

Just read the guardian write up - obviously very scary stuff!

I - like many others I know - have a social in public before meeting someone - but this is still obviously no guarantee of safety if you decide to take things further!

The upshot of this story is clear .

Trans members need to be sure that the people they meet aren’t going to have an after sex moment that makes them think they’re commited some kind of sin by having sex with them .

Adding d**gs and alcohol to a meet is bad news .

And most of all , some people are just plain nasty , so be vigilant out there . Have a back up , someone you can call if needs be .

They spent three days on a drink and d**g fuelled binge , and it ended up with the trans lady being savagely stabbed over forty times to her death by the guy who had regrets afterwards .

Please take care out there .

"If he keeps his head down gets on with his time he will do half of that and be out in 10 year ."
Tariffs don't work like that. Life means life unless early release is granted, and early release can only be granted after the full expiry of the tariff (I think they c ll it minimum sentence these days). So chummy can't go before the parole board for twenty years, and then has to prove he's safe to be released.
