I do - I think it’s a lost skill. The more you take note and ‘listen’ to your body and get a bad feeling about something, err on the side of caution. The times you get proved right will increase.

Had this happen just recently.

Lovely lady I was talking to and even though things are progressing something just didn't feel right for her and I accepted that.

Wasn't upset by it as she did the right thing and no time was wasted.

She even sent me a nice message after saying sorry. Lovely woman.

Well I told the person I was going to meet and got backlash as expected and I’m like all the other women on fab...I got worried and paranoid as he was or is a copper....I saw a pic of him in uniform but who knows how old it is...we only started chatting yesterday and he wanted more than just a social which I wasn’t happy about for first meet.

I’m glad I went with my gut feeling

Yesterday I said we may meet today,then this morning he kept asking to meet and got pushy with what he wanted to do time,made me feel uncomfortable and I know I was right due to arrogance of him after

Follow your gut, you must have picked up on something that isn't right. Being pushy for a meet is not on. It should flow easily.

I went against my gut feeling twice, and on both occasions, the meets turned abusive.

Nowadays I listen to my gut instincts and act upon what they are saying.

I ignored my gut feeling on here once. I could see all the signs, but ignored them. Mistake!

Never ignore your gut feeling. In my case it was just a small amount of money (but still wound me up) but in some instances it could lead to something far worse.

Be careful out there!

Because like the OP and others have said happened to them, the people turned abusive after I'd declined.

Also not just on here- issues with an ex where my gut feeling turned out to be right.

I always go my instincts..

I can look at someone's photo & get an instant feeling.

Not something I can explain, just a prickle at the back of my neck.

I ignored it once, earlier this year. The outcome wasn't pretty.

I won't ignore my prickles again.

People's brains are built for interaction with other people and instincts, especially emotional reactions are a shortcut to a decision when there's not much information to go on so 'gut instinct' is your brain doing what it should, a best guess

Whether it's always right or hopelessly unreliable is hard to tell unless you decide to test it but I would suggest you don't test it with meets from here. Too many oddballs ....

Having written the above I'd just like to add that in psychological studies people are generally bad judges of character :D A few are good but mostly we're rubbish! If you can 'spot a fake a mile off' etc I'd advise some caution as you might be overconfident of your abilities and consequent safety.

I know to trust my gut instinct as when I've ignored it I've ended up in situations it would have been better to have avoided.

Of course I'd tell a potential meet we weren't meeting, but thanks for asking.

We get the gut feeling or intuition all the time. One just senses something is not adding up or logically incorrect.

It’s then for us to trust or test it. Sometimes it can be right, sometimes it can be proven wrong.

I always trust it, esp here. Our health is our wealth

I suppose sometimes you get to actually see that you made the right decision when you trusted your instincts, whether that’s by hearing or seeing something that confirms you made the right decision.

I go with my instincts every time. It’s served me well so far. You sometimes just get a feeling, whether that’s when chatting or in person. If that’s the case, I either won’t meet, or I’ll have a friend put emergency evacuation procedures in place!

Hardly anyone puts me off meeting and i've had mostly good experiences of casual sex.

One time my hypersexuality was out of control and i did meet a guy who had put me off previously, the meet was traumatising and he did not respect my boundaries. It put me off meeting for a long time.
