I see a lot of people saying must be able to hold a conversation. I find it hard starting one, definitely through a message, face to face I ok.

What do women really like as a conversation starter when messaging.

Hi, I'm (kind of person). I like your profile because (reasons). I think we have (stuff) in common. (something about the stuff).

Would be lovely to hear from you. Happy Fabbing.

Oh, if only everyone would do this

Perhaps it could become a standard, and enforced, first message template?

It's my answer every time this question is asked, at least? Because it is what does it for me!

To be approached in a friendly and respectful manner, is the short answer. But what that means will vary from person to person. Hopefully their profile will give you clues.

There and to the left a bit

Thing is OP there is no magic catch all formula that works for all - the key is finding the one that works for you.

Personally I find sending "cold" first messages really awkward but on the odd occasion I have done so (probably 6 times in the two years I've had this profile) I tend to go with introducing myself and giving a little more information about me that doesn't appear on my profile, saying why I am writing and why the other persons profile interests me - add a couple of compliments maybe picking up on something in their profile. Add a couple of questions that give them something to respond to and invite them to take a look at my profile indicating I'd be happy to chat more if it appeals to them.

Of those 6 messages that approach has got 5 replies

I also make sure my profile looks good and has decent pics and text and hopefully entices

Northampton Somewhere

Some good advice above but most people will look at your profile first and if you're not what they're looking for they might not even reply. So I think it best not to ramble on too much otherwise it's quite frustrating!

I usually go something like 'Hi, I've looked at your profile and see that you are fairly local and able to accommodate, why don't you check mine out and message me if you fancy a coffee?' The ball is in their court so to speak then...

Everyone likes different things.

If she’s not attracted to you it really doesn’t matter what you say as it won’t be of any interest to her.

I like humour personally and someone referencing something on my profile that says they’ve read it!

A decent profile. I always look before deciding whether to message or wink back.

We've actually blocked messages from single guys because of the lack of manners in their first message. A list of messages we've had and wouldn't recommend using:

Meet now?

Wanna go dogging?

Can I fuck your mrs?

Standard dick pic message

Hey how's you

Hi

All we ask is someone reads our profile and messages a polite message.

We aren't even against single men but this has put us off them for a bit!!
