Looking for a bit of advice please.

I have booked a boudoir/dungeon for myself and a friend which we're both really excited for.

They have sybians, fucking machines and a whole load of other toys for us to play with, but I'm slightly concerned about cleanliness and the possibility of catching something from them

I don't know whether I'm being sensible or completely OTT. But the thought of STI's and sex toys never worried to me until I googled it and now I'm even more confused

Seemingly you can catch STI's from sex toys, especially if they're made of porous materials... which we obviously won't know.

What was supposed to be fun is turning into a bit of a worry and I'm considering cancelling

Am I right to be worried?

Just condom everything up. And yes you are right to think about it. Even my silicon Lelo vibe has nooks and crannies. Apparently micro-cracks are an issue. It’s not a biggie to condom up I would have thought?

I had thought of that. But then we read something about condoms on silicon toys? The lube being silicon can degrade other silicon toys...

Christ I thought I was quite clued up until I went down this rabbit hole

Wouldn't catch me using them, even if they were bleached, Dettol'd and given a 6 week course of antibiotics.

My brain says nope.

You could take your own cleaning stuff with you, like a blow torch.

I would have thought with it being a commercial property they wouldn't want people catching something, so hygiene would be top notch, in between clients.

It's not like a club where people are mingling and using beds and spas together.

I imagine that condoms will be obligatory. I’d worry more about your sexual health than the impact on the toys

Did you read about the Italian brothel having to close after just a week ? Nothing too worrying you would think , until you read further and find that no women or men had sex with clients there - it was all sex dolls for the punters . Inspections showed they weren’t being cleaned properly and harbored unpleasant bacteria . After just a week !

I wouldn’t go anywhere near someone else’s sex toys

I am always amazed at the number of people who share sex toys. I clean my own scrupulousy and wouldn't go near someone elses.

Condoms are the way forward. In fact I'd be very surprised if the people who run the place you're going to don't insist on them.

Take some buzz fresh and condom up the toys. The most you could catch is thrush or some bacteria from a previously used toy, you couldn't catch a STI unless it was used instantly as they don't live outside the body for long as they need a warm host. But as long as you clean really well before use with a sex toy cleaner you will be ok
