I've stuffed them with onions, breadcrumbs, sausage meat, wrap in streaky bacon, fry to brown, put in casserole dish with red wine and root vegetables for a couple of hours, very tasty and cheap!

See that sounds delicious, but I googled it, and it says trim off the tubes and gristle, which put me off

Yes you need to do that but it's not difficult. We used to have this regularly when I was a kid and when cooked well I prefer it to steak. She used to use Pig's hearts and they were bigger and easier to stuff but the ones you buy now because of the way Pigs are reared aren't good.

Truthfully they already cooked from the shop.

But you normally you have to remove the hair over heat. Then I would just put into a large pot of water with onion and garlic celery etc. Shimmer for a few hrs. Take out dry of. And cover in a little oil and cook in oven till brown as you like.

Sometimes I cover in brown sugar before the end.
