A female friend of mine signed up for fab tonight. After finishing setting up her profile she verified her email address.

It now says before she can use the profile she must get photo verified. She is uncomfortable doing that as it means showing her face. I know only moderators get to see the verification photo. She also does not want to get naked to do a verification photo.

When did fab make photo verification compulsory?

Does this mean my friend cannot sign up to fab if she doesn't want to do a verification photo?

I know when I signed up I never got forced to do a verification photo.

If photo verification is now compulsory it's a good and bad thing. Verification photos may stop some fakers but not all of them. If you are good with photoshop a verification photo is easy to fake.

Making verification photos compulsory is going to stop a lot of people signing up to fab.

It can’t be compulsory as there are new profiles made in the last few hours that aren’t photo verified.

So I’m guessing they may just pick at random or something.

Not really sure what anyone’s reluctance to photo verification might be. If you actually are real and have intentions of using the site beyond your phone screen someone is going to see your face eventually

It’s not compulsory it’s just compulsory if you leave and rejoin a lot from the same IP address/devices (this happens to a female friends of mine as she comes and goes a lot) I it’s a measure to try to prevent fake accounts unfortunately she won’t be able to get around it and will have to verify or not use the site

Personally I think it should be. Doesn’t have to be a face pic, or naked as long as it clearly shows you holding your name on a piece of paper with today’s date.

We had to photo verify after wed paid for gold. Was happy to do it but they should have asked before taking out money incase we wasnt.

Use your message filters we have blocked non verified users contacting us.

Plus if you only meet in clubs, unless the disguise is very good you know who you are fucking.

This is fake news. Just done a search of new members near me, all but one are not photo verified. So it is not compulsory.

You do need some form of verification to join the forums though, always have done.

Because if you're real and planning on using the site you'll soon have meet veris, which while they aren't infallible are worth a sight more than a photo veri which just proves they're someone of the right gender (or good with Photoshop)

I have a singles profile and have had for months (female) for some Reason it changed to male even though put up three photo verifications I still can't get back to my profile page really pissing me off. I have done it surface showing holding paper, boobs showing again hands holding paper and still stuck on photo verification page.

To use the forums you do need to have a verification (photo or in person) and be on for 168 hours or so. Which is a good thing because it keeps this area a lil more secure from idiots trolling

I agree and think it should be face verified. When I joined another site, I had to send a full body shot but clothed and a face pic. You also have to pay for membership which I think stops many fakes joining.

I have never quite got the point of the full naked photo veri afterall I could get another lady to stand naked holding a sign up with my username doesn’t mean it’s me a face pic is far easier to cross reference so harder to fake in that regard

If photo verification is now compulsory it's a good and bad thing. Verification photos may stop some fakers but not all of them. If you are good with photoshop a verification photo is easy to fake.

Making verification photos compulsory is going to stop a lot of people signing up to fab. "

I didn't have to photo verify previously on fab but after six mths away I was asked to photo verify and could send messages until I did

The number of adult sites that get hacked, add to those the sites that get hacked that have payment information and risks have been increased a fair amount. I have enough meet veris (if old), but hope to get back to meeting..

Plus give their drivers license at a club.....

The site uses an intermediary payment system, so they don't have access to my card details.

I'm not a member of a club so I don't know how they work and keep people's details safe.

Clubs don’t keep my ID. Merely look at it to check it. I pay for fab via text. I don’t have a problem putting a face picture on fab. I have a problem with a process that won’t do what you say it will do (prevent fakes) but that forces me to do something I don’t want to do.

I can understand the need to cut down on fake accounts (maybe CAPTCHA or a 3 month period to get cam verified in a newbie room could be an option) but you have an email tied to me, along with an IP, my age, location and pics.. Off the top of my head, if Sony, Yahoo mail, Ashley Madison can be hacked, they are my concerns for not holding a sign up is all.

I’m not sure as fab is very different to other sites. One I’m on you have to send 2 pics, one face and one full body. You now have to pay a fee to join as they had many fakes and people making multiple accounts. You can also pay a monthly fee to have more access to things but at £10 a month I stopped it and had the free one. I do think a joining fee would deter many more than being photo verified.

The problem with many sites is the fakes and I have tried a few sites over the years.

Ones where you have to pay EVERY month problem is the men and couples have to pay single females are FREE and that just opens the doors to a flood of fake profiles, I was forever being pestered with messages from the fakes trying to scam me.

Ones where you have to pay per message sent again single women seem to get it for free and will just send single word replies trying to keep you messaging for as long as possible with zero chance of meeting.

Ones like fab that have a free part a paying part and a verification part, free part just opens it up to lots of fake profiles, Paying part scammers don’t mind paying a bit if they can get lucrative scams, verification part they overcome that by using someone who is not of full mental capacity to hold the piece of paper and photo them.

It is an ongoing problem that we all have to live with and use our own intelligence to sift out the fakes and scammers and find the real gems.

It’s an effort to even write out ‘fabswingers’ ha. I didn’t get around to doing it for the first 6 weeks due to laziness and not being compulsory.

You can't see the possible issues over a photo existing of your face alongside the url for an adult site? Wow. And are you really comparing that permanent image with someone setting eyes on you, minus the url, in real life? Wow again.

I have photo-verified, because as a single guy I feel I need every slight advantage I can get on here, but I know of plenty of very genuine women who wouldn't entertain signing up if it were compulsory. Making it so would drive away as many real people as fakes.

I know when I signed up I never got forced to do a verification photo.

If photo verification is now compulsory it's a good and bad thing. Verification photos may stop some fakers but not all of them. If you are good with photoshop a verification photo is easy to fake.

Making verification photos compulsory is going to stop a lot of people signing up to fab. "

We joined July 2017 and had to do this, the photo is private!

I said it a year or so ago that fab should make it compulsory and yes they have. While people always say. "Oh i can't show my face " but happy to send it via private message to another user who may do whatever they want with. But is uneasy at the prospectof sending it to the administration team. Not unless she had no intention of meeting anyone,or she thought they'd meet without seeing her face. Either way she would have to have her face on fab at some point. Only difference is that she's been forced to.

Some are just starting out and dipping their toes.

That doesn’t make any sense. Commitment to what? Trust in what?

If you choose to think that of me because I don’t have a photo verification then it really doesn’t impact my day. If you think I shouldn’t be here because I chose not to then that’s fine too, but that’s not the crux of the argument.

I stand by what I said. If photo verification was to be mandatory then I’d do it (or maybe I wouldn’t) But I would lay money on the fact that it has absolutely zero impact on the amount of “time waster/fake” complainants.

I also guarantee I could photo verify without using a photo of me and no one would know. So how on earth would that make it a good process? There is no proof I’m genuine.

Now as far as I can see they are all new members and I only found one photo verified oh and that was Elvis Presley!

So it dosn't appear to be true this must photo verify one.

Well it seems that not all females profiles are being treated the same. I've recently been contacted by a female who is/was on the site 2 days without a green flag. Unless it's taken admin 2 days to look at her verification photo,then it would seem it is not one rule for all. If true would be very disappointing indeed
