Probably because many men on here have daughters. When you spend years with a small child calling you daddy with everything perfectly innocent. Then hearing the same term from someone in a sexual sense is really weird and a bit emotionally confusing. (From experience)

Whilst respecting other peoples right to participate in activities which stir deep emotional / sexual reactions through the medium of consenting role play, which may include dd/lg scenario's, I would rather not be referred to as a daddy as it would have a negative association with me. It is something that would be as unwelcome as me trying to piss on you without duscussing it beforehand.

Most people who enjoy this kink wouldn't dream of just calling out daddy willy nilly. Its always something that should be discussed as with any d/s arrangement.

I am aware of that, but I don't class myself as a kinkster, so when she started with it I was a bit put out. I was merely extrapolating my experience out as a reason why it doesn't sit well with some. I let the lady i mentioned know from the start it wasn't my thing and I was playing along to keep her happy, as she introduced it several months into the relationship and everything else was good. However when we split she was slagging me off on her profile as not knowing how deep her kink was and being too vanilla. I now avoid it.

Again it’s a kink or a fetish that some have, I don’t like baby girl or princess but I get that others do and understand it. I know how the sub takes on that roll of feeling protected and feeling looked after, I take on a brat more slut role than a little, but I get a lot of dynamics and try to understand everyone has different kinks.

Almost every guy on here calls women babe or baby and there isn’t outrage over it!? I think that’s far more inappropriate considering the constant infantilisation of women to sexualise them.

If discussed beforehand, I think a lot of pet names or derogatory terms can be sexy but as with all D/s play, boundaries should be discussed and respected.

I wouldn't knock it, just stating that it can be disconcerting for those not into it, who are exposed to it when they aren't into that role play.

Having played the part of a Daddy when I was only doing it for the Bg I found it exhausting as it wasn't confined to the bedroom. It's not something I could be consistent with as it's not a natural part of me to want to have control over someone (note** I didn't take control, she asked me to control other parts of her life such as diet and exercise) especially as I have a very full time career.

I'm sure that if both parties are into the role play it can be very fulfilling.

I think you have hit the nail on the head. Calling a lady 'Babe' is an infantilisation of an adult. However it is used glibly by both males and females as a term.of endearment of other adults. I don't think many parents call their children 'baby'.

The term "Daddy' is the inverse, used by most children. I found it confusing. But that is only my experience of it.
