"Yep and outdated terminology. I understand why Fab lumps trans people together to keep things tidy but there's a huge difference between a cross dresser, a transvestite and transgender person " The community is driving difference in identifying how they feel and see themselves, which I think is a good idea personally. The web sites are finding it hard to keep up with the new terminology though.

"Yep and outdated terminology. See if it can change. Also yeah, I was told by a trans friend that transsexual is pretty off term bc sexuality is obvs a completely separate thing from gender. I'm not sure how trans folk on here feel about the outdated terminology but it kinda bugs me.

"Might sound uneducated but trans... Transformation.. sexually.. changing sex.. I'm guessing vestite means some term of clothing? " "Trans-" as a prefix means beyond across. Vestite is from the Latin vestire which means clothing. So literally, transvestite just means cross-dresser.

" But what class of person could be offended be being addressed over meggaphone as a lady or a gentleman?
