Girls....a question for you. If a guy offered to drive 2 hours for a kick off social having chatted for a while....and there was a definite connection Would you be flattered or suspicious?

I would be flattered and somewhat excited - I did have a guy who wanted to drive down from Scotland for a social, I couldn't get my head around that.

I spent 7 hours on a train to meet for a social after clicking on a dating website (it was quicker than driving). We are now married, kids, dogs, mortgage. Sometimes the payoff is worth the pain.

i think they are reading into "social" as a view to play after

Neither but we wouldn't agree to it.

We have had people offer to travel for many hours to meet socially even stay in a hotel for the weekend after coming down from Manchester. It's too much pressure, why would they want to put themselves out so much just to have a drink and a chat, then if we clicked do it all over again?
