"So if we started to accommodate we could ask for money towards our mortgage? " yes I mean why have something everyone wants and give it away for free, make sure you have loyalty vouchers though every fourth session is free

"I must admit that I once offered a meet £20 towards petrol as she’d driven a considerable distance to meet me, seemed reasonable to me in that it would have cost her a great deal in petrol and ‘splitting the bill’ seemed acceptable. She was quite offended and refused. Said she’d come because she wanted to. I accepted this and waited till she went to the loo and put the money in her handbag. " This is just so thoughtfull. I hope you both had a great meeting. I know it's a bit sexist so apologies in advance, but I think it's nice if a guy thoughtfully treats a lady/woman he is meeting. Not financially though. A small gesture even if that's coffee and cake on a social. Perhaps this is just me because I tend to only meet guys where I think there is going to be a long term friendship rather than just one of meets. Incidentally I once drove from Cleethorpes to Southend for a meeting and didn't ask for a penny! Why would I, I wanted to meet him and he didn't drive. Simples. Ummmm did I go off on a tangent here lol What was the question?

"I wouldn’t pay them. But I’ve gone halves on a hotel room before with a couple." Sharing the cost of a room is sensible. Nobody should be gaining anything other than pleasure though. Cal

She said no thanks but you still went ahead and ignored her. OP - No, I think you're being taken for a ride here. Whilst splitting the cost of a hotel if fair, asking for travel money is silly.

They didn't go through someone else's stuff. I'm assuming he just dropped the money in the top of the bag which is totally acceptable. Personally I think it's a very nice thing to do.
