Why on earth do people post statuses saying that they can't play due to the time of the month or mother nature visiting. I literally couldn't give a fuck about someone's menstrual cycle to be honest and I find it weird broadcasting it on your status. Maybe it's just me but some things are better left unsaid.

maybe because it saves explaining it to all and sundry when they ask to play. Personally I just say not looking right now

I usually post it's bj and social week. Those I see more regularly know the score and benefit from a bj if we meet. And those that I have yet to have a social with know we can arrange a social.

Doesn't bother me what others put it's their choice.

I like this. A bit like steak and bj night. I’ve thought about putting something up to say not meeting this week but didn’t want to broadcast my cycle. If others do that’s fine though. We don’t need to be too coy about this stuff surely?

I don't think on a site where people have statuses saying "come over and suck my cock" or " looking to have my brains fucked out" that women saying they have their period is too much information by comparison really.

This is a swingers site where people have pictures posted of the most intimate parts of their body being stretched, filled with cum, and a lot more that I won’t speak of.

Yet it bothers you that a woman writes in her status that it’s her time of the month?! Menstrual cycles are natural, maybe she posted it so everyone who viewed her profile knows beforehand. I personally wouldn’t post it but each to their own.

I thought it was only 13 year old boys who got weirded out by periods... I guess not.

Yes!!! Exactly this!!! We're all supposedly grown ups here.

Personally I wouldn't put it on a status, I'll just tell anyone who asks to meet, but if some people find it easier just to make it a status good for them. I'd sooner see a dozen "I'm on my period" statuses than a dozen unsolicited dick pics but guess which happens more frequently...

Periods are still a taboo subject in the UK. I personally think it’s a private time for a woman so I would never post such personal information.

Its becoming less of a taboo and so it should.. no one should be ashamed to talk about it as the menstrual cycle is a huge indicator of a womans health! It can be affected by anything from stress to cancer.

So have you tried to discuss it in general life and seen the reaction? I sort of have done in the past just to ‘test the water’. It’s definitely taboo and really if it’s being discussed with men, they really do not understand the problem. I once worked with a chap who asked me ‘is it like a cut, is it sore and painful down there?’ I didn’t go into it as I soon realised that man had formed his own opinion of what it was.

Didn't actually say it weirded me out so nice projecting there, what I find odd is displaying it for all to see.

Equating it too the pics of sexual parts and activities is a false equivalent as generally periods aren't associated with sex (and yes I totally know you can have sex, go horse riding or sky diving during your period).

I totally get the point that it saves time explaining why you're not meeting but I do think displaying it in your status isn't very classy. Just my tuppence worth though.

I refer to it as shark week . I wouldn't put it in a status, but I don't see how it makes them less classy with it being a fact of life and all. Much better than the "who wants to come and swallow my load" ones I regularly come across.

Its no longer an issue for me but I wouldn't it mention to anyone either but I wouldn't mention in my status that I needed to go to the toilet either. However I think requiring women to keep quiet about the fact that they're menstruating or suggesting that those who mention it aren't very nice is the thin end of a wedge, the other end of which prevents hindu women from attending temple during their period and means the practice of chhaupadi was only recently outlawed in Nepal.

I also can't see what it's got to do with being classy? If they'd put "damn this shit, my cunt is bleeding like a waterfall and the clots are blocking the toilet" then I could see where that wouldn't be classy!

Women get lots of messages on a daily basis and just letting potential meets know that an instant meet won't be happening because they are menstruating is fine.

Much better than "who wants my load".

Maybe women on their period should not be allowed to come on fab?

I didn’t ‘put him right’ as he was a father of two and I thought it a touch weird he assumed we were walking round bleeding from cuts down there every month! I could not be bothered explaining to such a naive man. Then I wondered is this what other men think?

To a point I agree. I don't understand why people announce bodily functions to the entire world. I've known guys describe their most recent poo in proud and graphic terms. I think though that women are so sick of being treated like pariahs during their period or it being implied that they're unclean that some of us don't take too kindly to being told to keep quiet about it.

I realise that you're just saying don't make a song and dance out of it if you don't need to though.

It’s not projecting at all.

If you’re not weirded out by it or uncomfortable you wouldn’t have posted this thread in my opinion.

Periods aren’t related to sex but it is part of the reproductive system, and a vagina is a reproductive organ so I really can’t understand the issue.

If someone mentioned they were sitting on the toilet having a number 2 then I could understand where you are coming from with the “classy” comment, but alerting people via their status that “it’s my time of the month” or “Mother Nature has turned up so I can’t meet” will most likely cut down on the “Can we meet” messages for those days. I really can’t see the problem.

Someone said periods are taboo to talk about, I’ve never noticed that, maybe the older generation consider it more taboo as it was when you were younger but these days it’s freely spoken about & there’s nothing wrong with talking about something natural in a discreet way.

I agree.

It just reminds me of back in school when boys would see your tampon in your bag and start with “Ewwww you’re bleeding for a week” “You’re on your jamrag” What a horrid phrase!

Then when you needed the loo we’d slip the tampon on up our blazer sleeve or discreetly put it in our pocket so not to get teased. Women shouldn’t have to “hide” away or be quiet about being on their period because it makes some men (or women) uncomfortable.

Menstruation is still a taboo in many culture. You're right when I was younger people didn't mention periods in the same way they do now but its due to us being prepared to break that tradition that its acceptable for your generation to be so open. Well that and the ad men with their white shorts, skate boards and discreet blue liquid.

"This is a swingers site where people have pictures posted of the most intimate parts of their body being stretched, filled with cum, and a lot more that I won’t speak of.

Damn I'm the older generation at 40 that's it game over

Tell me how announcing it on your status is discreet again?

Don't know if you missed the part where I said I've no problem with discussing it just any bodily functions posted as a status aren't classy. "

I didn’t say specifically you, I’ve spoken about similar before with family and the older family members would mention it was taboo when they were young 20/30 years ago, you are 15 years older than me at 40 so to me would be considered “older”.

Saying “it’s my time of the month so can’t meet this week” IS a discreet way to say you’re on your period.

Saying “I’m bleeding from my vagina for a whole week and it’s coming out like niagra falls” is not so discreet. In my opinion “time of the month” is a discreet way of mentioning your period.

Again, I can’t see how mentioning something natural in a way as I’ve described is unclassy.

Some of the statuses “Need a pussy to fuck to shreds tonight my cocks hard and I want fuck and go” (actually saw that today) I’ve seen on here from some men & women are what I’d call unclassy.

Menstruation is still a taboo in many culture. You're right when I was younger people didn't mention periods in the same way they do now but its due to us being prepared to break that tradition that its acceptable for your generation to be so open. Well that and the ad men with their white shorts, skate boards and discreet blue liquid."

Absolutely agree and this was the point I was trying to make.

I’ve spoken with women family members about it before and it was taboo back when they were my age and younger, but not so now, that’s why I explained maybe older people find it strange when they see others mention it so flippantly.

Maybe. However there are thousands of years of cultural pressure behind the taboo surrounding periods. Certain sections of society are in the fortunate position of being able to talk about menstruation freely, go where they want and do what they want when they have their period but if you look at traditions in various religions you'll see that it doesn't apply everywhere.

It’s not a silly thread. I personally think periods are private and not to be advertised, how I see it is ‘advertising’ it makes it come across as tacky! Sorry if that offends which is not my intention but the forums are for differing opinions.

Whilst some people are repulsed by it there will be those who enjoy period play.

Is it not possible them putting it up is a way to draw those to their profile who would enjoy it?

Sometimes find this - and as a bloodhound I love a girl that has no qualms play when on. If she's relaxed about it and up for fun then why should the girl be frowned upon for playing during her period

I see women posting on their updates they cant play due to that time of month. Its a horrible feeling being horny or needy and you cant or won't play in that situation. I think women do it to obviously let the masses know but also because they just need a good cwtch off someone. Women can feel incredibly down on a period. Their moods are all over the place and they just want some TLC. Posting it is the only way some may get it. I think theres nothing wrong with it myself. Ive seen a hell of alot worse
