single men /men in couples

just a thought, single guys get frowned upon in the swinging circle (maybe frowned is a bit strong but i am single and that is how it seems sometimes even club entry can be more expensive!!!!) but what is the difference exactly between single men and men in couples, we're all males right????

It is generally like _ingmaster says...men in couples are sharing their partner and visa versa...there are tons and tons of single guys on the swinging scene...loads of competition for club memberships etc...so "the market" dictates the admission fees...supply and demand..single men £30 to get in..single girls...free or £5...simple economics..!! not fair ?? Discrimination..???.

Btw..the single guys I know are blooming brilliant..XXXXXXXXXXX

Yep i know what you are getting at (was a single on the scene many years ago myself) but swinging itself is mainly a couples sport in the days before Internet sites IE key parties at peoples houses single males were a no no or at best very rare (although because of my bi side i did get to go to a few )single males like it or not are just an added extra for most couples and some couples would not even entertain the idea of singles

Swinging can be a minefield for single males but persevere be patient it does get better with time xx

tell you what pisses us off, we were at a club recently and was in a room with another couple when a third couple opened the door, and the guy says is it ok to enter, so we said yeah ok, so the guy comes in and the girl stays outside watching through the window, so hannah says is she coming in, to which he repies no she just likes to watch, wtf, is it us or is that not on, anyway we told him to sling his hook, he should have been charged as a single guy, or at least tell people what they are into, before they try get in room

Its simple from our point of view really, we prefer to meet couples other than single guys because I (Kate) am bi, and like to have a fem to have fun with. x

Single men seem prepared to pay higher door charges and thus are effectively subsidising (the male half of) couples. That keeps the entry charge for couples down and encourages more couples to attend. Without couples, and single women, clubs wouldn't exist.

my guy did the clubs when he was single and didnt like the fact that he paid so much, but now he's a couple and paying the same amount, but hey he's having more fun as a couple...lol...

1) Couples come as a pair hence the dynamics of mingling/interacting/socialising with another couple are easier - not the misconception the male half "brings something/someone" to the party (ffs - that "something" is another human being, not an object out of james bond's tool belt!). For all we know, SHE is bringing him!

2) Clubs and venues charge single guys more because on the economics of demand, they can - its not as if single guys have a union that they can complain through. If any club dared charge couples more than single guys they know the couples would not go, and hence the club would go down under, yet the simple truth is most clubs need single guys (or at least, the money they bring).

3) The business side of things demands that clubs operate with so much overhead - this tends to be passed on to single guys via entry (in some cases, membership) costs. Any single guy that doesn't like it can go elsewhere as there are 10 like him ready to replace him. The reality the numbers (money... head count...) doesn't factor in however is the "swinger behaviour gene".

I've seen many single guys that are legit gents get turfed away on the excuse "You're not welcome, you have nothing to offer" whilst pretty much rolling out the red carpet to a couple - only for it to be the male looking to play and no one to come near "his missus" (sad in my opinion) as they "apparently" have an agreement that she's not interested in playing with anyone else. Yeah right! That's not swinging in my opinion.

I've even seen a couple with their profile that are only looking for single fems for the male half, but are happy to meet a couple as long as they agree that they play with his female while he sits back and watches. Cheeky or what?

i have to comment because I have never been to a club alone as a single guy, always with a woman I have met before or even on a first meet as neither of us can accommodate.

To be honest, being sat round on my own in a towel waiting for something to possibly happen has just never interested me. Would prefer to read a book and have a pint!

There are some that think because they have paid in they have a right to something, others are voyeurs and some happy to wait. But as said before, it really is simple supply and demand economics on the part of the clubs

yep it is discrimination and the old chestnut of "well the clubs wouldn't survive without charging guys more" doesnt work for me.there is roughly and equal split of gender on the planet,its simply exploitation and sexism.

Wouldnt be allowed anywhere else so why should swinging be exempt?

Just waiting for a brave soul to challenge it in court lol and no i aint got the time or inclination

You don't have to sit around waiting for the second coming - feel free to interact

The only risk, you never know who (ie couples) are receptive to attention of any sort from single guys. Some examples:

Me: "Hi, I'm Ahabs"

Them: "No thank you".

Me: "Hello, enjoying your evening?"

Them: "Yes - without single males"

Me: "Hey there, hope you don't mind my sitting and chatting"

Them: "yes we do - if we wanted to chat we'd find any single male"

These are actual examples that have happened to me - now imagine if I was the rude one! I'd have been turfed out!

I hope I would never be that rude! There are polite ways to say no.

Having said that I much prefer single guys to couples; only time I don't if if they expect me to go staight into room with them without any socialising first.

When we used to go to a club we encountered this problem.

A couple came into the club,he left his "wife" (still with her coat on) drinking and chatting at the bar,where she remained all night.

In the meantime,he stripped down to his shorts and proceeded to stalk us for much of the night.

These sort of couples should be bounced and banned from clubs on couples nights.

They're there under false pretences and are a nuisance to genuine couples.

i think if you read some of the above quotes you would realise that this isnt always the case and i wasnt expecting a debate or people trying to talk down to me!!!! then i forget im only a single man and a bit thick maybe lol

I don't see why you think it is a contradiction really..the lady in question is bi so it makes alot of sense why they would want to meet with ladies and couples as there is always a lady involved that way.

I don't feel that this is an issue. I believe it's just personal preference. Horses for courses and all that. I wouldn't like to be judged for being a swingle male, and I won't judge others for the type of swinging they prefer. People should be nicer though.
