Oral without protection is just as unsafe as penetrative sex. All you can do is get yourself tested regularly and use your common sense to try to reduce the risk. For example, if he is playing bare in his pics or his verifications there is obviously a higher risk attached so I would steer well clear.

The risk of transmission is generally considered to be lower orally than anally. But the odds change if you have any fissures in your mouth - ulcers, gum disease etc
