They could ask a mate to do the pic for them. Also pics can be faked/ photoshopped.

Nothing is fool proof.

Being photo verified doesn’t mean the person is genuine or even the person in the verified photo.

So what difference would it make?

People would just then moan that fab need to do more about timewasters & fake photos.

If you come across a fake account just block and report, that’s all you can do.

If we joined now and photo verification was compulsory, or if we found that we couldn’t get meets without it, then we’d get photo verified. I don’t see why it would be a problem, as its not as though face pics are required for photo verification. However, with our meet verifications, there’s no need for us to get photo verified now, so we’re unlikely to bother unless we have to.

I am photo verified but I only done it after being on the site a long time,I'd be hesitant to do it as soon as I joined! I want to get to know a site a bit first. A lot of people would feel the same it would prevent newbies

Websites get hacked sometimes. The pic could be made public. Some people value their privacy more than others do.

Our profile could be a guy who had posted a picture of him and his unsuspecting wife. So if we really are a couple we should be able to send in a photo of the 2 of us with our profile name. Whereas if it’s just a guy, he wouldn’t be able to do that. (We are real though

Joining a site like this can be quite daunting to some especially single people who don't have someone else for a bit of support/geeing on. It doesn't mean they're fake, they may just be more safety conscious. It's uploading pics on internet, to some that's a big deal

Yeah I agree too, FaceTime and Skype are also a great way to get to know someone (it's not for everyone) but face to face on cam saves the time and expense of getting ready and travelling to meet a person there maybe no attraction to x

We are not photo verified but we are genuine and have verifications to prove this, I don’t think photo verification would solve anything, and personally wouldn’t do photo verification unless it was mandatory.

I think maybe you should only be allowed to post photos once you are photo verified. And this photo should be for verification purposes only and cannot be used on you're profile.

This photo should be used for comparison by the mods when a new one is uploaded for approval. Otherwise, how do the mods know if an uploaded photo is genuine?

The amount of fake pics we've identified by Google reverse image search is ridiculous.

Yes, I understand that photos can be faked so it's never going to be 100%. But it will hopefully help.

Photo verification proves nothing, and is easy to fake.

Just because someone has got photo veried, does that somehow mean they will turn up for meets etc?

Admin have said they are not going to make PV compulsory for everyone. PV's are always double checked by more than one person so fake ones are not normally an issue
