It's the same in Edinburgh/surrounds. It's basically used in place of 'person', and can be used jokingly, affectionately, aggressively, just about any way. Where we live, it's rare to hear a sentence without. I'm totally inured to its use.

I'm more likely to use the word pussy in a sexual setting, but cunt is fine also. Despise the word fanny, it's an instant lady-boner killer!
