we prefer it as we can then concentrate on the person you are with .. as opposed to making an effort with 1 half of the couple but looking up and seeing that they appear more aroused by what their partner is upto with 'another' rather than what 'you' are doing to them

we find that many profiles who list Separate Room amongst their interests shy away from it when asked , so wonder if vouyerism (same room) has become more popu;lar due to the Video Age (i.e. it's like watching real time porn) ??

To me being aroused by watching my partner is the whole point...

So separate room would do nothing for me... It's all about watching and to be honest I'd get no enjoyment without my husband/master watching me.. its all about those little looks, being able to kiss one another.

So I don't link it to porn... To me separate room, I may as well be having sex behind his back.

We inadvertently found ourselves separated, albeit in the same room and hated it.

I agree with Cali that while being with others is kind of the name of the game, it's those little looks and comments that make it so erotic once we lost that connection all the fun goes for us. Whenever we play its an extension of us. Saying that the connection can be stretched

On the flip side I do understand what you are saying about the distraction but then it depends on the couple. I think there is a happy medium as you can end up feeling a bit like you are entertaining others. We've considered seperate room but after our little experience don't think we would now.

That's why we are open to singles too because sometimes its nice to have some undivided attention.

i love being watched, and dont have any problems with seperate room either...depends on my mood,partners(sexual) and where we are.

The idea that seperate rooms is somehow like shagging behind my partners back is just

though.

If i want to play and kev doesnt for whatever reason...me returning with a fab smile and stories of what i have done is as far from cheating as it could be.

i do understand what you mean but i really cant see how having sex with your partners full consent but in a different room is on par to you with cheating

I get my 'thrill' 1 on 1 sex with my husband... he knows exactly what to do to maximise my pleasure

1 on 1 sex with another guy has no appeal at all.... I love sex with another guy in front of my hubby.

I love seeing my man with another woman... I am quite partial to him playing with a woman on his own too, but when it's a four-way swap I would much prefer same room... It's what we enjoy and has nothing to do with porn.

because its how it makes me feel... I didnt say it was.. I said for me... and for me.. it would be like cheating.. I would get no enjoyment from it. I dont fuck others for their pleasure.. I of course want them to have a nice time. but I do it for my Master and I's enjoyment.

actually to clarify.. its not that I see it as cheating with consent.. but just that the pleasure I get from it is zilch. So feels like cheating as I never got anything when I had done that in the past.

When we first started out in swingland we were guided by the couples we met. We were completely green and if they told us that you had to dress up in a tutu and wear green wellies, we would have gone along with it

Our first half a dozen or so experiences were same room, and to be honest we both felt that something was missing.

Then we met a "seperate room" couple and it just felt so much better. Neither of us are watchers, and we trust each other implicitly, so we were not put off when they suggested we seperate to play.

We will still play same room, but say on our profile that we prefer seperate room play.

I guess it's just another of those personal preferences that we all have.

I never understand why many folk question (some do it quite often) the preferences of others if they don't match theirs.

I like to see him have fun and he likes to see me have fun, if I don't want to play with him in the room I would meet alone, but we get off on it, we don't sit and just watch each other but we enjoy hearing each other and seeing the enjoyment.

Separate room swap does nothing for me, if we were to go to a party with everyone just playing all over I still wouldn't like being separated from him, I like the little looks we give each other, the winks, kisses etc we get to do while we are with someone else.

Since I have always been a 3rd wheel so have never swung as part of a couple, I have always wondered how the separate room swap works.

Do the 4 of you congregate in one room and then two walk off? Is there any play before you separate?

For me (and I admit I have no experience so just my unqualified thoughts) it seems strange... "Errmmm... So now we'll go next door for a while..."

This doesn't mean that I wouldn't happily give it a go if the opportunity arose! Just right now I cannot get my head around it!

One final question, what if one couple finish well before the other? Do you wait next door for them to finish?

when i was a couple i was happy with both

i was more than happy to have all four in same room and to be honest had no real desireto ever play in separate rooms but if it was what the other couple wanted i was happy to do separate rooms

i would always be to busy doing what i was doing to be worried about anyone else lol but i have found so many couples are far to busy wanting each other to make sure neither is breaking any rules or seeing if they getting a bj so she knows it ok to give one etc to be honest id want to play in another room if my relationship was like that

Generally, 99% of the time when we play together, we are playing in a club and its me thats playing with someone else - Hubby is either joining in or watching! If he plays, its usually solo on his own at meets.

He loves it when I am playing and he isnt in the room as the excitement of what I may be up to really turns him on.

So while we dont BOTH play in separate rooms, he loves it when I am playing in a separate room to him!

we prefer same room and have found same as op...... some couples put sep rooms on profile but when you chat about it change their minds.. for us its being able to fully enjoy with the person you are with......... have in past had experiences with some couples having lack of trust in partner that makes them go for same room. understand this isn't the case for everyone though. sep room works well for us

Everyone is different so in a way very similar to the kissing thread. On a personal basis seperate room fun would not do anything for us. We swing to add to our sex lives. But for us that means seeing the other having fun. If i was with another woman without my wife I'd imagine the lady would be quite disappointed. Maybe its the length of time we've been together. Maybe its some insecurity on my part. maybe its that I'm a voyuer. But I just have far more fun with the wife present.

On our first time my wife nipped out for a drink and I was suddenly much less comfortable and quite nervous. It could have been that the other lady became more eager once the wife was out the room. But not something I'm keen to repeat.

I know not very manly to admit but thats just the way I like it.

We much prefer same room fun because its as much about us being together as it is about us being with the other partners too, we enjoy touching each other while we play with others, we enjoy watching the other couple together too.

at parties, mark sometimes isn't finished when i am, or i normally want a break, because condoms make me hurt downstairs, and very occasionally vice versa.

so we in that situation do sometimes play without the other, but its only at private parties with people we know and are already comfortable with.
