recommendations!!!

Having just recieved a message from a couple who have contacted me as they had spoken to someone in the chat rooms who recommended me!

Felt a bit cheap....as I am a person not an item that you would purchase and recommend like a household appliance!

Does this happen to other people?

just take it as a compliment. we've had a few people say "so and so said you two were cool" no offense should be taken

I have had this happen too, I think you should take it as it is meant, i.e. that someone liked you enough to think of you when someone else asked them if they knew someone they might get on with..

In fact I find it quite flattering that a lady or couple would name me when asked 'do you happen to know of any half-decent single blokes who can be relied upon?' or whatever the original question might have been.. Depends how you look at it, I suppose, and I'm generally fairly laid-back

Find it more flattering than anything else.

If it hadnt been for a cpl I chatted to in chat rooms I wouldnt have met Jet. He came in room didnt stay and then the cpl who had already met him messaged me and said I should meet him . Week later we met and that was over a year ago now .Have also met the cpl with him a cpl of times and said thank you in the very best way

i think it depends how its worded.i recently got a lovely email from a couple saying they had heard nice things about me and after seeing my profile they could see why

However if they had written "x says you are a great fuck wanna meet" i would have been annoyed with the other persons indiscretion.

I fail to see how it could be anything else than a compliment, after all isn't this what verifications are all about - recommendations.

I've always taken it as a compliment but I do know what you mean. I've recommended a few single guys I know but I've checked with them first that they are ok with that. We used to meet a lot via recommendation and it worked well for us as it saves a lot of sorting the wheat from the chaff. Ms

+1 a friend and i had similar taste in guys and we where not dissimiliar in looks and we used to end up sharing quite a few guys through recommendating

It's all down to context and although I think my initial reaction wold have been the same as the op's, I ghuess if the approach was respectful it should be taken in the way others on the thread are viewing it.

I agree jemima, was chatting to the OH about this. I wondered if there is a difference in the sexes as to how you would take being recommended?

ie, I would feel the same as the op and be a bit put out that my name was being 'banded around'.

The OH on the other hand said he would be really happy that he was getting his name around as a 'good fuck'!!

People talk amongst themselves when they meet/get together/etc., so IMHO, it is perfectly normal for one to be mentioned in a conversation and then for the other to act on the information.

I too would take it as a compliment.

I deffinately see it as a compliment. I will often reccomend a man or couple to a single lady friend if I have had such a good time with them. Nothing to say they will like them but it does go to show if you get a name for yourself by being a nice person people will want to meet you

I prefer discreet playmates that's why my verifications are hidden. I've not played with people I've met socially who've tried to regale me with tales of past meets.

I'm more than capable of finding my own playmates and would not be amused if a playmate "recommended" me.
