Do one liners actually work?

We get them every day- how's you? What you up to? Wanna fuck? I've even seen on many profiles "no one liners" or "make an effort" but yet people still send them.

Is there a faction of people on here who respond to them? Or am I being petty? Maybe it's an easy ice breaker or apeal to those that like drop of a hat meets??

I choose not to read them simply because I struggle to get any sort of dialogue going from very little info (and normally their profiles give very little away).

I don't want to join the trend of placing hoops for people to jump through on my profile and if I don't want to read a message I delete it- just asking does anyone respond to them??

If the sender's profile is decent then yes. But, if every reply from them is basic and I struggle to respond to them then the conversation will go nowhere.

It depends what the one liner is tbh. If it's just "hi " I don't bother looking but I it's something funny I might

I guess from what I've read so far; it would depend on who sent it and their profile. I have a single female friend on here who gets loads and from what I've seen it's mostly overweight middle aged guys with nothing but mushroomesq cock shots on their profiles.

I only asked as I've met so many on here who all get loads.

Obviously personality and physical appeal would mean a greater chance of success

Depends partly on contents I guess of the 1 liner but equally when out and about one normally does not give war and peace to break the ice.

They work on me when I’m out, so long as they arnt about my looks. Being told you’re beautiful works a treat on my mate though. I prefer funny.

I would rather have a hi how's you message than a big speil about them. Aye your this your that....very good. Would rather have a hi how's you so I can get a conversation going. It will tell me a lot more about the person than an irrelevant bit of info. I want to know the guys not a bam rather than a life story x

A guy kept me amused for ages with a string of one liners. It can be fun and entertaining.

we always reply to all messages, however the dull one liners get a reply that is befitting the message,

if you don't want a sharp cutting reply don't send us one liners, we also state this on our profile but most guys it would seem don't read profiles

It's a waste of time sending then. And just shows that you do no have much to say. It's not an ice breaker at all.

There and to the left a bit

If it's a funny or clever line that is backed up by an interesting profile - or if it's a one liner sparked by a forum thread then yes I may well respond - although I generally prefer something to get my teeth into as an opening message.

As a bi guy I get my share of messages from other men and invariably they're one liners of the "hi, how's you" variety and usually backed up by an equally unappealing profile so tend to go straight in the bin.

On the occasions I do reply to that sort of message they nearly always turn to sex talk within 2-3 messages which again does nothing for me and is likely to see an end to the conversation.
