Yup, had this recently. We had started chatting on Pof and then I joined back up on here and he found me. When I said I didn’t want to meet he got all shitty.

I joined a dating app recently as I'm definitely looking to connect with women who may end up being life partners. I'll be approaching it entirely differently, however, starting with purely platonic friendship, then seeing if romance and sex follow. Here people quickly dismiss you if you don't come in from the sex angle. Don't get me wrong, sex is important, it was a definite factor in the breakup of my previous relationship. But unlike most on here it soooo doesn't define me. I am a constellation of intriguing ingredients. In finding a life partner it's much more sensible to seek someone who gels with my goals, dreams, soul, humour, spirituality, etc. Sex will be an essential part of that compatibility. But it's not what I would lead with.

Having said that, although I'd be surprised to meet my soul mate on here, and if I did I would have gone about meeting her completely back to front for my liking, I'm not closed to the idea. I don't need to distance the women I meet on here from me. Not unless they want me to distance them

I’m like this also. It’s such a catch 22 situation as I don’t want a relationship with a ‘vanilla’ guy, I want to meet someone that’s on the same wavelength as me sexually. I’m very sexually adventurous but I just don’t enjoy casual sex with random people unless it’s with a partner in tow.

On tinder for short-term relationship

On here for meeting up.

Wouldn't refuse a one night stand or a relationship, because it was the 'wrong' site, if it was offered. But it does affect my approach. I was once approached by a forumite on Pof (who I'd tried to meet through fab previously) and we had several vanilla dates, before realising chemistry wasn't there.

The reason I asked is , we on fab are open most enjoy the lifestyle so to start a new relationship with someone on the same wavelength where do you go ? Most women on fab are not looking for a relationship but most on bumble are looking for a relationship.

A funny tidbit about dating sites... you can have the same pictures and profile text... but someone will ignore you on Fab but chat to you on Pof.

I was on a couple dating apps, found the men gave it all the chat but on meeting was obvious all they wanted was a one off shag.

On here, I've developed real friendships, met some amazing people, found a group of crazies I can truly call my best friends, and yes I've had some bloody amazing sex too, with regular partners looking for more than just a fuck n go.

It is indeed an odd world we live on.

On a lot of apps unless they are paid up members they can’t message back, even if you message first

And a gentleman told me yesterday that these sites have a lot of female “bots” so a lot of the time they don’t get genuine mail, which makes it harder for is when we do send genuine mail.

Interesting read this. I can say those apps do work, I met my last girlfriend of 2 1/2 years on one. She was amazing, we just both agreed that or future plans weren’t heading in the same direction, so ended amicably. Which was a lot better than my previous long term relationship.

So they do offer a genuine service, not everyone wants the wham bam thank you. I’m on here but not on any other sites or apps. I’m on here, as my profile suggests, I would and will go back to using dating apps, but more than happy with my life at the moment.

I've downloaded Bumble but can't use it because it doesn't allow Facebook log in anymore, only phone numbers I think.

I use Tinder but don't like it because you have to match before you can send a message. Kinda bugs me when I read the profile and see we have the same things in common, but even if I swipe right I very rarely get a match.

I use POF as a way to build my confidence up. I'm not ready to get into a relationship again, it wouldn't be fair on the other person because I'm still in love with my ex. So for me it's about going on dates, trying to rebuild myself up again. I don't wanna hurt anyone in the process, but POF is really about me doing what I have to do to fix my broken heart.

I've only really spoken to two people but I was honest with them about what I wanted. One of them said that was fine, the other blanked me after that. I'd never intentionally lead someone on.

Tinder is for a quick hookup and Fab is to meet new friends for something more casual, a FWB type of situation.

When I last properly delved in online dating folk used to message folk they were interested in, there was none of the swipe right/left and wink stuff that you get on apps. It was like here, you saw a profile and said hello and took it from there.

And most of the men (not all) seem to use the apps as a hook up accessory. I can get that here. And i’m either a right howler or they don’t want to upgrade the account they have to allow them to message back, instead their profile fluff alludes to off-site ways of contacting them.

I appreciate i’m Old fashioned in my dating ways. And of course I dare say others like how instant it is, but for me it was disappointing.

Just spoke to a hot couple on there . They had on there profile there looking for wonen only . So i messaged there instagram account and told them to go on fabs . They replied back saying theyve been on it 3yrs and rarely find women on it they told me they are getting women or mainly young women in 20s every other week !!!! I had mostly an opposite experience - most are looking for a friendship and possibly a relationship as a minimum, and the same desperados whose message is are "sex" or "fun" on here do the same there but are easily blocked.

Got a date on Wednesday from Bumble I do better on Tinder and all The others than I do on here and most of the women on them are on here hahahah
