Fake statistics on Fab

Something bugs me. I see way too often people talk about fake prifiles on fab, and how many there are.

You know what, for nearly 10y on the site we are yet to be approached by a fake profile, let alone being time wasted from such a profile. Been time wasted for different reasons.

Anyway, I think people confuse sometimes uninterest, different views and desires as fakes. Just becouse you are being ignored doesn't mean the other side is a fake.

And how about, profile just a week old says: way too many fakes here. Interesting, isn't it.

Beyond the shadows.

That's one of the issue's with the interweb there's a lot of misinformation about. More often then not it more peoples perception of something that gets propagated than the actual facts

I agree. Some people think that if they are turned down it must be a fake.

This is the best site I've been on as there are no fakes at all. As in no site generated bot profiles.

There are Catfish but they are all over the internet. Not the site's fault.

Well as a single guy it’s rare to be approached by anyone so approach by a fake profile is pretty rare

Most women and couples don’t do much searching and messaging so I suppose are not as exposed to it as the guys..

Of the ‘single women’ profiles, the bulk are newly registered, no pics or information and unverified. The same names crop up newly registered every few days, make status updates every hour and ususally include references to payment or illicit substances..

I’d imagine most single female profiles are also part of a couple, hopingvit improves the chances of finding the illusive unicorn.

Of the ‘couples profiles’ not much better can be said. The impression given is that the number of bisexual males in couples in the fab population must be many times that of the general population. If indeed the ‘couple’ includes a female at all!

Perhaps this sounds like a typical single male whinge, but the impression I’m left with is that nothing can be believed until you’ve spoken to the people they claim to be on the phone to confirm it

Given the supposed male:female numbers ratio it suprises me that any bloke would actually not show up for an arranged meet with a real woman or couple..

Many of the women are labelled as timewasters, but I’m not sure they set out to do this. Many are unexpectedly flattered by the attention they receive and just are too shocked to make a choice, or bottle it at the last minute, having not intended any malice.

It's more down to how genuine someone is behind a profile and what their actual intent is. Some do just join for a wind up and have no intention of meeting which is why profiles disappear as quickly as they appear, others may be just using the site for chat or the social side of things, others like the forums, some like the chatrooms whilst majority are looking for sexual meetings. People just need to remember everyone is entitled to say no and do not have to explain why. Doesn't mean they are fake.

You will be surprised of the guys and last minute cold feet.

Last year I have been organising a meet with a good looking, verified single guys. M was really excited. We had the house just for us( happens only 3 weekends in a year). The meet was for 8.30pm. around 9pm I texted the guys to ask what is going on. He replied: I stop by the local pub, to think it over, and came to the conclusion you (meaning us) are fake and up to something dodgy. I said, what are you talking about man, we have like zillion validations, you are validated, come over as M is getting pissed as she spend over an hour preping, fully dressed up etc. The guy was insisting we are setting some kind of a trap. Apparently he heard about such stories over here in the forum.

I was god smacked and blocked him. Took me another 6 months to convince M to give another chance to a Single guy. She was always telling me that most guys are just big talk and no action, and silly me defending them.

I,m a single female profile and I am definitely not part of a couple. I am 109% single. I have a criteria for meeting,I don't meet just anyone.

As someone else said , at least there aren’t bot generated profiles on here .

So what’s a fake profile ?

One where it’s not who they say they are .

One that says they meet , and they don’t .

One which shows pics of someone other than the person behind it .

I guess that’s it , so there are a few of these but that’s not the sites fault at all .
