...anhone remember these from the 80s and 90s? - usually paperbacks with lingerie wearing ladies on the cover - probably helped corrupt me lol!!

I really like Sarah Water's novels for that very reason. Erotic Victorian fiction is what I blame for my love of corsets! Tipping the Velvet is good but I also loved Fingersmith too!

I think those are the more recent ones - and pretty hot too - unlike the 'shades of....' nonsense they have plots and are truly erotic - tipping the velvet also translated well to the telly. The types of novels I meant were ones like 'The Oyster', 'The Pearl', 'A man with a maid' - usually authored by 'anonymous' (although Wikipedia tends to tell us who the authors were) and written in a 'very proper', but absolutely filthy (LOL) manner!
