Hi all, just wondering what the general consensus is with asking for face pics:

Will asking for them in your very first message put people off - is it better to message a bit first and then ask?

Or do people not like to give them out at all?

If we're sending a first message to someone we tend to introduce ourselves and add a few face pics along with a warning to sit down before you scroll down just invade with give them a scare lol.

We often receive messages from others without face pics and after chatting for a while we send them face pics which usually results in no more response so we find it best to get that bit done and dusted from the start

Its up to you. It can be quite awkward if you're getting along well and then find you aren't attracted to the person.

Most people send us a face picture with their message.

I like to receive a face pic when somebody is introducing themselves. I don’t however like the ‘hi hun,your tits r amazing, do U have a face pic’ messages that I get. I’ll send my face pic when I feel comfortable, and not to some complete random that has no intention of making any effort

I send a face pic with first message if its someone id like to find out more about. What i dont like is people that message asking for a face pic when they dont include one first. I think if you are going to ask then you should show yours first.

Ive said before in the forums. I dont know why everyones veri photo isnt automatically attached to messages. After all you wouldnt talk to someone in a pub or down the highstreet and hide your face. All here for and with the same mind set.

Sorry nearly turned into a rant then lol. Hope youve all had a relaxed weekend.

On the few occasions that we have sent a first message we will attach our face pics and if they are interested we would hope to get face pics back. We do request in our profile that people attach face pics with first message. This save a lot of time-wasting to get the basics sorted first. If we are interested we will send a friend invite which will give them access to our face pics. We never ask for face pics, but we feel there is not much we can do if we don’t know what someone looks like.

We usually ask within the first few messages for face pics, we are pretty honest and say if they aren't for us but drives me crazy if we send one and they just ignore us. Very rude i think. X

We always send them with our first message or reply, and would expect to see them in return.

Also would like to get theirs names even if made up. Message without introduction rearly lead to meet, and if do, never good experience. First message says a lot for the personality.

This avoids building unnecessary expectations and time waisting.

Some are rud and never introduce themselves, never sent photos, but keep replying to messages. Makes us feel weird to ask for names and face photos after the second message, and ussualy gets them blocked.

We only exchange face photographs after the two ladies have spoken on the phone as that is a great way of exposing the ‘couples’ where the female half (if she even exists) hasn’t a clue about the online correspondence and that probably applies to most couples profiles on Fab.

Another filter for us is anyone using the term ‘pics’ ,very lazy that is .

I tend to find swapping face images early on (on this site rather than Kik etc) is a good indication of who is serious about meeting... I also have a general rule that if someone approaches me they have to send photos first but if I approach someone else then of course happy to send mine first x

Best bet and the way that works well for us is this .

If they seem interesting enough for you to send a message to , then attach a pic of yourselves and ask them to return one if they’re interested .

Simple really , and fail proof .

Get one back , like it ? Sorted .

Get one back and don’t like it , block and move on .

Don’t get one back , they don’t want to know , move on .

We prefer to swap pics straight away, there needs to be attraction and no point with the chit chat if it isn't there. If someone messages first and asks for face pics we would expect them to have sent there's, think that's only fair.

I send a facepic with my first message. As a guy, I dont think you have much choice. If we do end up chatting I will ask for one after a while when it seems appropriate, if not volunteered before. It always does feel like a risk sending a facepic first, because there is always a chance someone will know you and there are many fake profiles, but as a guy there is no alternative on here.

Because one method of verifying is a faceless nude. I don’t want that attached to my first messsge to people, thank you. I also sometimes send messages to people I’m not interested in meeting, so there’s no need.

You need to realise that, for a lot of us, that’s a very real thing. I will send a face pic if it’s going down that road, but it takes a few messages for me to get an idea if it’s safe to do so.

I’m always intrigued by the argument that people don’t want to ‘waste time’ exchanging messages if there’s no physical attraction. It’s evident that people spend hours of their lives talking shit on the forum (and that’s not judging, because I do it too) but suddenly, when it’s chatting to a potential meet, the clock is ticking and there is no time to exchange two or three messages to get a handle on who you’re talking to. God forbid you ‘waste time’ on that.

I never give them, you need to decide if its a deal breaker for you. As a professional I don't want strangers having my photo, I also don't want to meet people who judge who they want to fuck from a face pic. But that's not better or worse than any other criteria its just my criteria. Decide what yours are and why

I hear what you’re saying. Admittedly I waste a lot of time chatting on the forums, but don’t want to to chat to people via private message. The latter is just something we don’t really enjoy doing. If we were actively looking for playmates we might agree to chat first, and we did in the early days. But as we are no longer actively looking, it will be a number of factors that cause us to change our minds about meeting someone away from the club scene. The most persuading factor will be facial appearance. I do respect that some people have professional reasons for wanting to be more careful, but that doesn’t help me when I normally need to know what someone looks like to have my interest piqued. I also know that there are people on Fab in the same profession as me who do regard it as too risky to send face pics. I’ve taken a calculated risk. With regards to finding out someone I fancy is a total arsehole, that’s never happened. Having had 9 first meets via Fab in 4 years (where we hadn’t previously met at a party or organised social) only one have I had no interest in taking it further. That was extremely awkward the one I had to turn down. But we have a high success rate, so I guess we’ve found a formula that works for us. If our formula ceased to work for us, or we found ourselves at a lot of loose ends, we may well change the way we do things. We’re not the type of people who will cut off our nose to spite our face. But there is currently no need to change what works for us. It’s up to everybody to find a formula that works for them.

And these two points nicely sum up a feature I'd like to see here, in that the green arrow is added to profiles, making it easier to filter those you speak too in messages to get a flavour of their less guarded personna. With any forum postings that they've made.

That is assuming that in being contacted with the view to meet, does at least see the sender display some degree of 1st impression flatttery. And of course if they've posted here at all.

Some people are really funny when it comes to face pics.

As a single guy more than 99 times out of 100 I send the first message,and I always attach a couple of face pics.

After a few messages I say something like it would be nice to see who i’m speaking to,and I either get some back,or it goes quiet.

Some will send,some won’t...
