If no effort is made with a message, a lot will ignore or block. When my profile was showing I replied to every message but if I politely declined I got abuse, so maybe the person sending the message needs to be more polite and accepting.

Yea sadly alot of people on here, especially women contend with a flurry of stupid messages. I always appreciate an articulated friendly message and equally send the same. If no reply or obtuse response, not to worry! This is the internet after all! Plenty of friendly awesome folk on here anyway.

Like I said before, I used to reply when my profile was showing and I would get abuse when I politely declined. It’s that abuse that is not nice and I got it from couples as well as men but mainly men. They can’t handle rejection.

Imagine if we were pleasant to every single person who messaged us? Where would we have time to actually speak to the ones we wanted to speak to? Or enjoy the forums (for those of us who do)? I can understand your frustration, but you need to understand, it's not about being unfriendly. It's about coming on here for fun and not spending all our time on fab doing what would essentially be admin work, if we were to have to reply to everyone who reached out via pm

Some 'messages' i get could be done under the trades description act

How anyone thinks its ok to send 2 xx and a cock pic as a first message is beyond me..

I don't think there is a need to reply to all messages, if I send a message, it's always polite And left so they can reply if they choose too. I have received some very rude/aggressive messages which I ignore/delete.

The site has changed I left and came back too a lot of rude people, arrogant couples seems to be the new thing. Still a lot of lovely people on here

I just delete messages if I'm not interested in chatting to the sender as sending a 'no thank you' sometimes makes them think it's an invite to continue messaging when it obviously isn't. Sometimes you can ignore messages and they still keep on sending them so you end up blocking them. The FAQs do state that it's not obligatory to reply but not many seem to read them lol.

She means if you change your filter settings anyone you have previously chatted with can still contact you, new filter settings won't apply to them. So if you don't want to chat with them you have to block them.

Honestly. If someone messages and you never interact with them ie reply, they can't message you when you change your age filters. Only ones you've had previous communication with, winked at or have on your friends list can bypass those filters.

We have found recently, that some folks are becoming more arrogant in their attitude and approach to swinging, its nice to send and receive a message, doesn't need to be war and piece long, but make it friendly and polite from the start. The ones who write polite, well articulated and humorous first messages would be better answering that. It's not meeting in the physical form. It's online. The same rules don't apply. The amount that only say hi are shockingly high. I tend to gravitate toward the more interesting messages. The ones that actually pique my interest. 'Hi' just doesn't do that for me unfortunately

For us, accepting that this isn't everybody's thing, if you message people and want a reply there needs to be a certain onus on the sender to display something worth engaging with. Hi or hows u just doesn't cut it. The same for us applies with face pics, if you instigated contact then its for you to show yourself if you don't already.

Not saying that it is the way it must be, but only for us. However I think its the same way for many of other FAB users too.

I reply to all first messages. I get loads of replies saying thank you for actually replying because no-one else does.

They message when filters are off. If I reply, when I turn them back on, it means they can message again. If I don't reply, the filters will stop the message from being sent.
