About two days probably, which means the room can't be used while it is drying

Where did you sleep?

I worked in hotels for several years before I went into make up and I have to say I think it's a bit of a liberty to indulge in wet play in a hotel.

Spare a thought for the housekeepers who have to clean that up! Not to mention the fact that it puts the room out of use for at least a few days.

As for the fine...serves you right if you ask me...

Can't say I blame the hotel... they now need to clean the mattress, possibly even change it altogether. The room will be out of service for a couple of days while it dries.

Didn't you think to put something down to protect the bed?

I worked in hotels for several years & I completely agree. Mattress will most likely be replaced rather than cleaned as it will be assumed that someone has wet the bed. Mattress will have to be collected & disposed of & then replaced.

You’re lucky it was only £220.

Don’t be so inconsiderate next time!!

Waterproof polythene dustsheet. Even under the bedsheet if you don't like the feel then just handwash the bedsheet in bath, ring out thoroughly and dry above the heater for a few hours. Back on bed, hey presto! No one's any the wiser and the sheet gets washed again by the hotel anyway to leave you with a completely clear conscience and a full pocket! Plus

This is the kind of thing that makes me dislike staying in hotels and sleeping in beds other people have used. It's a disgusting state to leave a mattress in and it's yours/your partner's responsibility not the hotel's. Also mattress protectors are not waterproof, you're confusing them with waterproof sheets used for children who wet the bed.

Frankly you're lucky not to have been charged more as they've probably had to replace the mattress.

Had a great night in Aberdeen once with another couple.

One of the ladies was a squirter and squirt she certainly did. However I spent about two hours nearly burning out a hairdryer trying to sort the bed out.

I feel chamber staff must get well pissed off with what they find and it's only to be expected that recompense should be levied.

Puke up in a taxi and you are keeping someone from making a living so taking a room out of commission is on a par.

Exactly, you pay £80 for a night in a hotel (basic room) and you expect extreme hygiene to lay your head down, yet some have so little resect and feel they have the right to whatever they want because they rented the room for the night

"How about your head on a soiled pillow? Rank"

I once did a residential training course. At one point, I thought I’d developed a problem with stinky feet. Lying in my bed at night, I could detect a faint whiff. I took to changing my socks twice a day, showering twice a day, putting my shoes outside overnight, and still that whiff. Then, one afternoon, some chap opened up to another that he was worried he had developed a problem with stinky feet. His confidant, amazingly, had the same issue. I heard the chatter and chipped in. Soon, everyone in the corridor was admitting they’d been secretly paranoid about the same thing. What the hell was going on?

Turned out, a whole batch of pillowcases hadn’t been fully dried after being laundered, when they were folded up and piled up. The ones at the bottom, with no chance to dry, had gone sour.

If we’d had the worst ones, we would’ve realised what the problem was, but the first ones coming through, the smell was so faint, it wasn’t obvious that they were the source.

Whenever we plan on any kind of hotel meet, we take a large red PVC sheet (Ann Summers) and 6 king size red towels to cover it.

It is fairly disgusting for anyone to think that it is OK to get a woman to squirt (pee) and soak a hotel mattress.

I hope we never have to stay in a hotel room that you have previously used.

Slight tangent but I remember as a junior airman being chuffed when I nabbed a Cpls room in the barrack block (slightly bigger, own hot and cold running toilet (sink))

I'd been in it a couple of nights and kept smelling something odd. Couldn't pin it down for about a week then realised....PISH!!!!

Transpired the guy before me in that room was a raging alcoholic who used to pee in bottles. He'd spilled a few it seems.

Shares in "Shake n Vac" went up that month, I can tell you..

Same as mentioned above really. I've worked in hotels and it's not nice to find that sort of thing in a room.

Think you got off lightly. £400 for a brand new mattress and £150 compensation for the staff member who found it and had to strip the bed!! Not to mention the fact it could have gone through the mattress.

Next time take her to your bed and see how you like it!!
