I suspect you are more likely to get support and encouragement, possibly even somebody willing to go with you, on one of the TV sites.

That is not a criticism of FAB, or of tgirls on fab, just that the likes of TVChix or Roses have more trans people as members.

Assuming your aim is to be out and about, rather than just exhibitionism, the best option is to look for a local social group or party for TGirls. It is by far the easiest and safest way to start out. It will also help you build up confidence before you go shopping on a Saturday afternoon dressed.

Having said all that, the most important thing is to realise that you can. Accept the fact that some people will read you as trans (very few people pass 100% of the time), you might even get the odd rude comment, but as long as you chose your time and place, and dress sensibly, you are unlikely to have a problem.

On a practical level, remember that when it comes to shoes, posing for a few pics at home is very different to walking around on the streets, so make sure your shoes are not too painful.

Thank you very much all your comments make sense to me and are very helpful.

I will try all the things you have said and hopefully grow in confidence and be a lot happier in myself x x

You could try one of the tv socials. Meet up with someone before hand and slowly work your way into it. It’s a bit daunting for most at first but once you realise that most of the people who see you don’t really give a dam it becomes easier. As my esteemed collegue above mentioned. The shoes are probably the biggest hurdle to get over so practice practice is the best way

Forgot to mention that many of the social events have somewhere where you can get changed when you get there, which for many is easier than venturing out of your own front door in a skirt.

Most will also allow you to attend dressed as a guy if you are not confident to dress.

Also remember that they are social events, not hook-ups, so probably best not to turn up with stocking tops showing and a huge bulge in the front of your skirt, or spend the evening trying to get into the panties of the person next to you

On the other hand most people on the scene remember what it was like stepping out for the first time so tend to be friendly.

Look at the women of your age group, note the hairstyles and every dayclothing they are wearing...

Dress like them and wear the flat heels that are ever so popular with young and old...

Thats what I do...

I often drive home dressed. Once the nerves have settled down, you start to relax. You look around and notice no one is really bothered as they are interested in what they are doing.

I go everywhere dressed both day and night . its all about inner self belief and confidence .if you want to do it go for it just dont make it look too obvious . try to dress and behave as any female would and blend in .if you really want to do this do it right
